HARRY BELAFONTE:

CAST LIST:

Jim Henson--Kermit the Frog, Rowlf, Waldorf, Capt. Link Hogthrob, Swedish Chef, various others

Frank Oz--Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, African Mask, various others

Jerry Nelson--Sgt. Floyd Pepper, Lew Zealand, Dr. Julius Strangepork, Eric the Parrot, Crazy Harry, African Mask, Louis Kazagger, various others

Richard Hunt--Scooter, Janice, Statler, Sweetums, African Mask, various others

Dave Goelz--Gonzo the Great, Zoot, Beauregard, various others

Louise Gold--African mask, various others

Bob Payne--various others

Stuff you might have missed--

Who is Bob Payne? Might he have been performing Sweetums instead of Richard Hunt? I only wonder because when he hauls in the jumbo-size bunch of bananas, he doesn't say a word.

In the closing number, Floyd is wearing the outfit he wore in the UK spot, "Honeysuckle Rose". However, most US fans were unaware of this as the spot was not in American broadcasts.

Scooter is one of the Muppets listening to Harry in his intro for "Turn The World Around", but he doesn't come out with his friends at the end of the song.

Towards the end of "Turn The World Around", Gonzo incorporates a calypso-styled version of the Muppet Show theme on his bugle.

LINDA RONSTADT:

CAST:

Jim Henson--Kermit the Frog, Rowlf, Waldorf, Swedish Chef, Newsman, Capt. Link Hogthrob, various others

Frank Oz--Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal, various others

Jerry Nelson--Sgt. Floyd Pepper, Dr. Julius Strangepork, Lew Zealand, Little Benny, various others

Richard Hunt--Scooter, Janice, Statler, Beaker, dog, various others

Dave Goelz--Gonzo the Great, dog, various others

Louise Gold--Dog, various others

Steve Whitmire--Rizzo, Zeke, dog, various others

Kathryn Mullen--Gaffer, various others

Karen Prell--Dog, various others

STUFF YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED:

Rowlf is playing a banjo for "The Cat Came Back" instead of his customary piano.

One of the dogs in "The Cat Came Back" is Rover Joe from "The Muppet Musicians of Bremen".

Apparently Linda still has a crush on the frog as heard in "Kermit Unpigged".

JOHN DENVER--

CAST:

Jim Henson--Kermit the Frog, Waldorf, Swedish Chef, Zeke, various others

Frank Oz--Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, goat, various others

Jerry Nelson--Sgt. Floyd Pepper, Camilla, Crazy Harry, tree, pig, various others

Richard Hunt--Scooter, Statler, Billy the Bear, pig, various others

Dave Goelz--Gonzo the Great, Beauregard, pig, various others

Louise Gold--Annie Sue, various others

Steve Whitmire--Various others

THE STUFF YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED:

Waldorf leaves the box to try and convince John Denver to cancel out...one of the few times he would do so. Conspicuous by his absence is Statler, but it's understandable since Scooter was also in the opening gag...I don't think Richard Hunt could move THAT fast!

The song Miss Piggy sings in the UK spot is "Trees". She is a bit more successful than Wayne & Wanda were when they sang this song in the first season. She is almost through with the song until she gets heckled by a tree. This song also marks the reappearance of the 'chopping wood' gag, a line she'd also use in Edgar Bergen's episode.

John Denver's closing number is "Grandma's Feather Bed"...a song Kermit would sing on the "Rocky Mountain Holiday" special.

We finally learn the origin of why Kermit's eyes look as they do!

Bob Payne is a puppet builder with the Muppet Workshop (I think he still works there), occasional puppeteer, and on old friend of Jim Henson's. They worked together during the sixties, as Bob Payne helped him with projects such as Tales of the Tinkerdee.

I think Bob is the guy who filled in for Jim on Sam and Friends while he was away on a tour of Europe where Jim realized puppetry wasn't childish.
