So I figure we can use a thread to discuss the movies we've seen this year. I will tell you that I spend a lot of my time at local film festivals and traveling the state for stuff I think I may wanna see, and that's actually how I saw most of the movies in my top category. It's been a good year so far.

P.S. No I don't see EVERYTHING. If I have a slight interest in something, or if someone invites me to something, I'll see it. Yes, there's a lot of crap, but ya never now... the worst movies can have slightly redeeming qualities. If nothing else, I know that I've gotten that out of the way and if the opportunity should arise to see it again, I know I can back out. Plus I'm justified in hating on it.

"Zohan" is actually not awful. I feel like it's Adam Sandler's best Adam Sandler movie in years (this is discounting his unusual dramatic fare like "Punch-Drunk Love", "Spanglish", and "Reign Over Me", all of which he's wonderful in). It's still really, really stupid. But it entertains.

I am not the target audience for "Sex and the City" so my rating should be kaput. However I was dragged to see it and my impression was that materialism gets really boring after fifteen minutes; two and a half hours is overkill.

As for "The Love Guru", I wouldn't say it's overrated, as the universal consensus is that it's fairly awful. If anything, someone who even remotely likes it will find it underrated. I found it offensive in many ways but mostly as a fan of Mike Myers. I laughed once, and that was at Justin Timberlake. Jus. Tin. Tim. Ber. Lake. I have no idea what's wrong with the world.
