VOLUME 7:

GEORGE BURNS:

The "Gonzo fiddles while George Burns" gag is used 3 times in this episode.

The sketch where Luncheon Counter Monster eats a machine was originally done on the Ed Sullivan show, with the monster being a prototype for Cookie Monster.

The Muppets that sing with George Burns in his closing number: Miss Piggy, Rowlf, Scooter, Gonzo, Miss Mousey, Boppity, and Nigel.

DOM DeLUISE:

This episode is the second on the DVD where Statler and Waldorf sing along with a character onstage...oddly enough, both characters that lead the sing-along were done by Frank Oz!

This is also the second episode on the DVD where Luncheon Counter Monster makes an appearance.

The Muppets that join Miss Piggy and Dom DeLuise for "We Got Us" include Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, Scooter, Floyd, Janice, and a male Whatnot.

BOB HOPE:

Although Frank Oz usually performed George the Janitor, he's performed by Richard Hunt (in a voice similar to Statler's) in his cameo on this episode.

Gramps from the jugband is another one of the hunters in the production number "For What It's Worth".

Many of the woodland creatures in this number were also used in "Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas". Old Lady Possum, Will Possum, and James Badger stand out.

The Muppets in the Folk Medley segment: Kermit, Miss Piggy, Scooter, Fozzie, Gonzo, Robin, Floyd, Rowlf, J.P. Grosse, Baskerville, and Kaftan.

VOLUME 8:

DIANA ROSS:

Conspicuous by his absence during "Feelings" is Floyd. Methinks Jerry Nelson was performing Janice so Richard could perform Beaker. Plus, this is also in sync with Floyd's character; "Feelings" is one song he probably wouldn't be caught dead playing.

Animal would also use his unorthodox method of crowd control (yelling "QUIET!!!...thank you") in "Muppet Christmas Carol".

The Muppets in the finale are: Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Scooter, Robin, Annie Sue, Floyd, Janice, and various Whatnots.

BROOKE SHIELDS:

Is it just me or is Rowlf getting a little too into "Jabberwocky"?

Muppet incarnations of Humpty Dumpty are 0-for-2 in terms of staying in one piece...this is one of two times HD would fall off the wall on a Muppet-related program.

Muppets in costume include: Fozzie Bear (Tin Woodsman), Dr. Teeth (Cheshire cat), Miss Piggy (Queen of Hearts), Link Hogthrob (King of Hearts), Marvin Suggs (magistrate), Statler & Waldorf (Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum), Floyd (Caterpillar), Gonzo (Mad Hatter), Camilla (Dormouse), and various others in generic Lewis Carroll-type outfits.

The White Rabbit sounds a lot like Wembley Fraggle.

Marvin Suggs plays "Lady of Spain" by whacking jurors on the head with his mallets.

The March Hare also appears in the Roger Moore episode, out of costume.

Is it coincidental that Floyd plays a character that smokes a hookah?

RUDOLF NUREYEV:

This is one of several episodes in which Rowlf's piano playing is interrupted. This time it's by Fozzie Bear trying to light Rowlf's candelabra.

Muppets in the "Top Hat" finale: Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Rowlf, Scooter, Mahna Mahna, and Nigel.

There are times in the "Swinelake" number where you can tell there is not a person in the pig ballerina Muppet (i.e. when Rudolf is twirling her in the air)

The way the UK spot (Something's Missing) is shot is reminiscent of early Sesame Street.
