So it's just been announced that Jim Lewis, the head writer of the Muppets, is officially retiring. Good for him, but I'll miss his contributions to the Muppets. I hope someone else who knows the characters really well, like Kirk Thatcher or Craig Shemin, takes his position.

It was actually something of a surprise when I learned this, as I hadn't realized he was still so actively involved. The 2010s theatrical movies and the 2015 "Muppets" TV series didn't seem to feature any contributions from him at all. I guess it just goes to show how much uncredited writing work is still done for the Muppets (talk-show appearances and the like).

I read that he's going to spend more time with his autistic son, which is really sweet.

Hats off to you, Jim! Thanks for all the fun, and I wish you the best in your future.
