I personally feel Avenue Q is a musical every 20 something should see, and a movie would be a critical darling and do well at the box office do to word of mouth.
Especially after the disaster that was Happytime,I really want a adult puppet film that is good. The only problem I see is wether it should be updated or be a period piece and to show the puppeteers or not.

I don't know I wish they would make one, and wish Robert Lopez would sway Alan horn to let him make a avenue q movie as a thank you

Some musicals work well in the intimacy of a small theatre, but don't translate well to the big screen.
Fiddler on the Roof worked well. The Wiz did not.
A number of tunes from Avenue Q showed up on YouTube. I got to see the show from front row center, so I was as close to the stage as you can get. On tv, you lose the intimacy in the translation. You lose the spontaneity when a puppet makes a comment of someone in the audience. The big screen misses that.

Part of me sees some potential to that, but another part of me doesn’t if I’m being honest.
