I want to start a puppet group, just like the Muppets. However, I'm having a hard time, coming up with a name. It's a toss up between Cuppets (since my name is Chris, I combined the C and the word puppet) or Juppets (since Jim Henson is one of my heroes, I combined the J with puppet). Even though these names are toss ups. I still feel like, these names look like a pathetic attempt to try be like the Muppets, when I'm not. Any ideas?

Maybe try avoiding "uppets" altogether? The only variation on "puppets" (other than Muppets) I have ever really heard that I thought worked was The Wippets. That's not to say it can't be done, just that good names are hard to come up with.

might i suggest you avoid trying to be "JUST LIKE THE MUPPETS", the only way youll get any attention is if you are something new and original, their are enough copycats , and imitators out thier, create something thats you, something that expresses your sense of humor, or veiws on the world.

How about "Chris *surname* Media", or "Chris *Surname* Puppets"? Like a buziness-company.

I agree. Don't use a name that suggests or makes us immediately think of the Muppets. It makes you look and seem unoriginal or creative. Not trying to be mean, just being honest and want to help.

how's the name, "Gippets"? It's just a random name I came up with.

Well thats still along the Muppet, Wippets lines. Go for something completley different and then comparisons won't be made. It isn't ideal, especially when you are being compared with something of that quality.

Yeah, I think it's the double-P's in the middle of the word.

This post has been left blank because i know the joke I wanted to make, while pretty funny and not technically against the standards of the board, would, nonetheless, force one of our esteemed moderators to delete it.

And just to be a little helpful: How about "Teppums"?

No, why does the name have to suggest Muppets at all. There is only one group of Muppets. Come up with your own clever name.
