Thanks for the advice. Right now the rubber cement seems to be working quite well and is surprisingly stronger than I thought. I used Elmer's Craft Bond Rubber Cement so maybe that's why its stronger. I'll still be looking into buying a respirator and I'll experiment with using thr hot glue in...
I've finally started building my first puppet. First I tried using hot glue but right away the glue didnt hold. Then I tried rubber cement which worked okay and held its shape once it all dried, but I feel like it won't hold up in the long run. I want to avoid using contact cement or anything...
After what seemed like an eternity, I was finally able to find proper polyfoam at Jo-ann. However, I think the foam that I bought may be too thick. The foam is about an inch in width and is about a yard and a half long. I just wanted to know if I should cut the foam down and if so how.
These are neat, but unfortunately I don't have a 3D printer. I was actually looking for information to make a head similar to Big Bird's, meaning that only the mouth moves. I'm making a peacock so the beak isnt very curved.
Hi, thid is the first time I'm posting on this forum. I'm new to puppet building and I've been wanting to make a bird puppet. Do you make the skull and add a beak later or do you make the pattern with the beak on it all ready?
