    "Muppet Movie" 50th DVD question

I have a couple of questions for those of you who have bought the new 50th anniversay DVD Disney release of "The Muppet Movie". 1) Is this the same transfer? Meaning, the previous release was not of great quality. Did Disney do anything to restore the film or improve the transfer? 2)...

    DVD - "Furry" packaging

An early press release stated "Collectible Packaging - With A Fun, Furry Touch". See here; http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=3506 I assumed this meant it would be "fuzzy" to the touch, like "flocked" packaging or something. The DVD I bought was just glossy cardboard. Did...

"Muppets Take Manhattan" screening in Denver

I was very suprised the other day to see that the Landmark Esquire theater in central Denver will be having a Midnight (yes, MIDNIGHT) screening of "Muppets Take Manhattan". Not sure if it's Friday 8/20 or Saturday 8/21. [moviefone.com lists 8/21 @ 12:15am.] I guess they're going for the...

Muppets to star in Pizza Hut Super Bowl Commercial

Well, alot of fun is made of Jessica not being too bright, ie, not knowing "chicken of the sea" is not chicken but tuna. So, my GUESS is there might be some gag about Jessica ordering/eating a pizza with bacon in front of Piggy, not "getting" where bacon comes from. Or Piggy saying "Don't you...

Your Thoughts: Kermit and the Muppets on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Well, Sara was on the FOX show "Greg the Bunny". [If you don't know, it was a parody of children's shows, where the puppets have real life problems (ie, ex-wives, alcholism, etc). I personally thought it was a great show.] ANYWAY, therefore, she's very experienced interacting 'naturally' with...

Your Thoughts: Kermit and the Muppets on Jimmy Kimmel Live

On Tuesday's show, early on Jimmy made a snide remark to Kermit in the guest chair (paraphrasing here), "this is just so strange" [talking to a 'puppet']. And whoever was working Kermit makes Kermit look down, and says, "Heh, YOU feel silly?" [I interpreted it as refering to the grown man...

    The most tear-jerking Muppet moment...

Follow-up I forgot to mention, in case you haven't seen the Seasame Street moment I was talking about; After the little girl says, "But, I love you", Kermit comes back in and hugs her, and tells her he's sorry, he's not mad at her. (Kinda makes the story more tender). ;^)

    The most tear-jerking Muppet moment...

tear-jerking moments This is actually a great thread. A real tribute to Jim Henson's ability to move people. I have three moments; 1) The MCJH special. No way to keep your eyes dry!!! 2) When Jim died, one of the broadcast networks did a segment on the national news. They ended...
