I don't think Elmo is killing SS. He may have saved it. With all the kiddie show competition in the 90s from Nickelodeon and other PBS shows, without Elmo being so popular (remember when Tickle Me Elmo was the hottest toy on the market?) who knows if SS would have survived?
'Course Cookie's...
What season are they playing on Noggin at 9 & 12:30 now? Just wondering because it seems like I keep catching the same ones over and over and over again! I thought they were going to show some different eps.
Personally, never cared for the season 25 eps. They introduced waaaay too many...
Aren't there some places that have Elmo's World as its own show?
Can't agree that the kids don't like the old characters. How would they know they're "old"? My daughter just loves Cookie Monster and sings that "old" C is for Cookie song. OK, so Elmo is her fave, but she still loves Cookie...
Just a "thanks" for this thread! I often wonder about this stuff and it's great to see it here. I'll have to make sure I print it out before I lose it!
I can't believe they're already recycling this seasons JTEs -- it's not even 2 weeks into the new season! I was liking the new format, but NOT if they're going to show the same ones over and over and over and over and over......
My 21 month old really misses Monster Time, too. I have a bunch of last season on tape, tho. They still show Monster Time in the opening sequence, so I'm wondering if it will make an appearance later on.
Global Thingy has got to go. BLEEECHHH!
"Me glutton, Me no liar!"
LOVE THE NEW SEASON!
(Random thoughts) I like the Street segment being in one piece right at the start. The format seems a bit looser. I wonder if Monster Clubhouse will be making an appearance again since it's still in the opening sequence. Like Gina's "Michelle...
I was a bit annoyed that Noggin didn't have their new schedule posted on their website. So had to get it from DirecTV....
For Monday, April 7
4:00AM - Sesame Unpaved
5:00AM - 123 Sesame (is there a reason DirecTV always lists this as Sesame Too?)
6:00AM - Franklin
6:30AM - Maisy...
I have an aquaintance on the New York Rangers who would love to do SS along with some teammates. I actually asked him the question directly "Would you do SS?" and he said "In a heartbeat! If someone sets it up, I'm there!" ('course he's got a3 year old and a 20 month old, so that probably has a...
In the "have nothing else to ponder department".....
Is the Monster Language an actual linguistically proper language (like Klingon in Star Trek) or is it just gibberish?
Speaking of the older bits, I'm glad that Play With Me Sesame plays a lot of older clips, esp. musical numbers (finally saw the Fuzzy and Blue (and Orange) skit on PWMS!) and Ernie & Bert skits. Does anyone know how many new episodes were made for this upcoming season?
The characters are exceptional. The music. The humor. The fact that I can watch with my toddler without my brain turning into mush.
And about 1000 other reasons!
That's interesting. I tried to find some info on this. A blurb from an article in Current Online: "Still, on an average week, more than 5.6 million households tune into Sesame Street and 7.5 million people aged 2 and older watch. Among all children's shows on television, the Street ranks eight...
So perhaps Oscar lives in an old NYC subway tunnel and instead of coming up through a manhole he comes up through a trash can?
I'm really thinking toooooo much about these things!!!
