Matt Robinson is the "real" Gordon; the other Gordons are "pretenders to the 'hood"
Of course, when I say this, I am being completely subjective, but Matt Robinson (who portrayed the original Gordon) was always the "real" Gordon for me. But that's because I was born in 1967, so I was right at...
I don't think a blanket generalization like the above can be considered to be either completely true or completely false 100 per cent of the time.
However, it is true that a bunch of names on a petition are not going to convince *any* corporate entity to do *anything* unless you "show them...
I'll try to be the calm voice of reason here, for all the good (none) it will do...
Partly, it had to do with what Dr. Tooth said, that is, Noggin was created as a joint venture between CTW (when it was still called CTW) and Nickelodeon, but last year, Nick bought CTW (now called Sesame...
First, thanks to dvakman for the above links. I had read the Ampex article before; that story was going around a couple of years ago. It's all very interesting.
A couple of things I noticed on a couple of "Sesame Street Unpaved" episodes which aired on Noggin which may or may not pertain to...
As far as I know, the "9 Lights" segment was Rowlf's only appearance on "Sesame Street," unless you want to count the prime-time network preview special which introduced "Sesame Street" (this was not actually part of the series), in which Rowlf appears alongside Kermit. I have never seen the...
Did someone claim that the #9 film was *edited out* of an "Unpaved" episode? That's sad, but since every episode of "Unpaved" was edited by a few minutes, not surprising.
I don't know about all the character licensing and all that, though I did notice some legalese about Kermit in the closing...
Speaking of that, there is a "Sesame Street Live" show playing in the Chicago area (or will be soon). I have heard radio commercials for it, and in the commercial, Oscar is called a "green monster."
Is it correct to call Oscar a "monster?"
I do also remember though, when Cookie Monster...
"The Monster At The End Of This Book" is really the only one I remember, but I remember it very fondly. So fondly, in fact, that a couple years ago, I picked up a brand new copy of it and read it again for the first time in probably 30 years. It's still available, although I noticed that it's...
Actually, I thought that scene with Grover and the peacock was pretty funny and demented. That was a welcome throwback to the SS of my youth, when they would do off-the-wall stuff just to be funny or silly.
Overall, though, I'm not too impressed with current SS. It's "dumbed down" too much...
Because...one of the main gripes adults (who grew up with "Sesame Street") have with Elmo is that he has hogged the show, taken it over and forced other beloved characters we all grew up with off the show.
And here, so the joke goes, he did it again. The "number of the day" was this/close to...
Not certain, but from your description that could be Ella Fitzgerald.
And Jose Feliciano's song is "Feliz Navidad," which is "Merry Christmas" in Spanish.
First of all, you'd need to define "we."
If the "we" you're talking about is people who watch the show but are not involved in its production, particularly adults...
...the answer is no.
I don't think Jim Henson's death has anything whatsoever to do with it, by the way. Jim Henson...
Yeah, what he said
Hi, dvakman!
That's right...Chris was the one who came up with the number 67. At the time, I'd been recording them off Noggin (I think Chris got the complete set before I did) and I was checking Yahoo TV, which listed the shows by episode number, but not the episode...
Northern J. Calloway Vs. Marvel Comics
I was digging around on the internet yesterday and I happened upon a couple of court cases involving a suit filed by Northern Calloway against Marvel Comics (which then countersued him), over intellectual property rights to a screenplay Northern Calloway...
Do you mean to say that segment isn't on the DVD? Well, that doesn't surprise me...but that was one of my favorite parts of the special, and one of the ones I most vividly remember...that and "Put Down The Duckie," which was also great!
Northern Calloway is not the only "Sesame Street" regular to have been the subject of a scandal. I don't recall all the details, in fact, I don't even remember this at all myself, but a friend told me he had read something in a tabloid (so some of it probably has a basis in fact, and some of it...
Every so often, someone posts something inquiring about Harold "Hal" Miller, the second actor to play "Sesame Street's" Gordon (for two seasons, 1972-1973 and 1973-1974, after Matt Robinson and before Roscoe Orman).
A couple of years ago, I looked for some information about him on the...
