I've been away from the forum for about two years and this thread has become too long for me to sit and read through (which in itself speaks to the long lasting impact of what we saw on SS in our formative years - that it's the "freaked me out" thread that's been so enduring), so I don't know if...
So, yeah, I'm auctioning off my doozers. NIB, the boxes are pretty dinged up but the figures look great. These are the little ones, like 3 inches, Sababa put out like five or six years ago. I've been asked to post a buy it now price, but honestly I can't find ANY precedent or tips on what to ask...
It will be if they have families and estates. That actually makes it MORE difficult, tracking down everyone who should be getting a cut of the royalties.
Still, this is FABULOUS news. And in October! Just in time for the birth of my first child. :excited: A new Sesame Street fan...
omgomgomg. I'm in heaven. The "O" song, we all sing, song of 10, the sad flower...blisssssss. :excited: All my dreams coming true.
Except suddenly I can't save the clips to my hard drive anymore. The old link where I used to to it has changed, and now it wants you to download some kind of...
I've noticed they have a button you can use at the bottom of a video to report it. Something about "helping us keep this a friendly, family site." I haven't done it, only because I don't want to have to sit through the videos in question in order to back up a claim of a specific violation. It...
ERNIE: "Well, yeah, Bert. It tastes better that way."
Funnily enough, this line is the only thing I remember out of that sketch, although I remember the other three vividly.
There's also the really old sketches of Grover coming to Kermit's house and selling him things he has no use for.
I don't know if Kermit is as patient with Grover as Grover is with everybody in general. Kerm would try to shut the door in Grover's face, insult him repeatedly, and finally blow...
That's weird. I don't remember seeing that skit at all, but somehow I remember the story! Never had that particular experience...usually my memories are very visual.
Is anyone else getting really ticked off at having to sort through all the obscene and unrelated clips that have begun to pop up when you do a SS search?
If people have to be childish enough to make up their own puppet porn, I wish they'd leave our beloved characters out of it, and keep it...
I never saw a street scene with CV, but I definitely remember the song, particularly the moment when either Andy or Eddie squeals out, "W-what are you, some kinda weirdo?" Captain Vegetable replies, "Do I look like a weirdo?" whereupon the kid silently but emphatically nods.
I always cracked...
Gorgon, they are in something called ".flv" - I have no idea what it means, but Quick Time won't play them. I had to download an .flv player, which you can find by Googling - there's a couple free ones out there.
I shudder to think of downloading those clips on dialup though.
Oh, yeah, that was a great skit, and it's where I learned the word "reputation." Because he bursts out in dismay, "You keep saying that! Think of my reputation!" I remember my mom being all impressed when I asked her what that word meant!
It's so good to see all the new animated clips on there. I'm always trying to get hold of those because it seems like anytime a collection comes out, the animated bits get shortchanged in favor of character-oriented stuff. Not that I begrudge getting as much muppet material as can be squeezed...
Cool thread, Bubble Guy!
I am another non-denominational Christian - something of a fundamentalist, I guess. I've been Catholic, Methodist, and Presbyterian (my parents moved a lot, lol), but I prefer "Christian" to denominational labels. I don't think there's a one single denom that's got it...
Whoever put up the Grover/Kermit "teeth" sketch - THANK YOU!!!:flirt: YOU ARE MY HERO.
That Mr. Hooper scene was not a good one for an emotional pregnant woman to watch. Only listening to Kermit say, "Like, carrotshhs," turned my tears into giggles.
Ok, never mind about that previous problem. I found a freeware program that plays them.
I'd love to see:
The one where Grover tries to sell Kermit something and Kermit ends up with this set of false teeth. A toothbrush, maybe? I used to crack up over the way Kermit talked with those teeth...
OMG that site is pure gold!
But, please, somebody tell me: What software do you have to have to play the files? I followed the link that tells how to download them, and tried it; the download came through but the files won't play. I'm not the most tech-savvy person in the world but I haven't...
