The News Flash sketch I remember liking during my childhood was the one that must've been a spin-off on The Princess and the Pea (but it wasn't "The Princess and the Cookie") where the Princess turns into a frog at the end...can anyone tell me the name of this one?

that's kind of tough to determine...I'm now 16 years old and can vaguely remember seeing "Wet Paint" by How Now Brown Cow and the Moo Wave sometime in the early '90s. Must've been 1991 or 1992, because it was before my brother was born (and he was born in 1992). So, I was about 2 or 3 when I saw...
That's the problem, the younger generation hasn't been exposed to all the classic songs! They should definitely show more of them on the current season of SS.

from your description, that sounds like "Getting Ready for School." I don't own a copy of that tape (and never have), but I'm sure you can find one on Amazon or e-Bay. Good luck!

hey
If I were alone in the room, I would shut the TV right off if I saw that ominous pair of lips on the screen, but if my mom or dad (or both parents) were in the room, they'd force me to watch it...

I've never seen it either, but I'm sure my mom or dad may have seen it. My dad was already 9 by the time SS started airing, but my mom (who was 6 when SS started airing) used to watch it with the kids she babysat for.

I was particularly scared by the lips at the beginning of the segment and the angry countenances on Maria's and Gina's faces throughout the whole thing. How about you?
~Dana~
wow, Soul H! I believe the last time I saw it on the show was in early 1997 and I was still jittering! My mom had to squeeze me between her knees to try to get me to watch SS and conquer my fear of it (and the fear was caused by having seen "The Word is No" when I was 3 years old and it scaring...
i'm surprised that i am only one of 3 people i know that was scared of "the word is no." that scared the living daylights out of me when i was younger! i know i posted that a while back, but just wondering, was anyone else scared of it besides me?
~Dana~
for some reason, I remember watching SS after Jim Henson's death (I was only a year old when he passed away) and still seeing Guy Smiley on the show. could it have been that they showed repeats of sketches starring him?
