SesameMike, I never actually picked up on the subtle reference to smoking, so it's funny you should mention that! I assumed, however, that the lesson was not only to teach about the number 7, but to explain that helping others is more important than material things.

DetGoran...are you looking for these sketches on video or in the format in which you can view them on your computer? If you want to view them on your computer, I'd suggest YouTube.com, since I've found a ton of great classic footage there. I'm also an active member of the Classic SS forums...
I guess I'm going to have to watch for that ending, since I didn't know it was still played...and Oscar being naked? That DOES sound strange. Not something I remember seeing as a kid.

The closing theme I remember most clearly is the one with the dancing Statue of Liberty and dancing buildings, the pigeon muppet, Elmo coming down with a balloon, and then Big Bird saying, "Sesame Street is a production of the Children's Television Workshop."

I'm a junior in high school, but when I do graduate, I plan to major in computer graphics/web design, with maybe a few courses in public relations and foreign language.

I haven't heard the song in over a decade, so I hardly remember what it sounds like, but I'm very excited to hear it again. I guess when I was younger I didn't pay much attention to the type of music it was, but that was an interesting tidbit there. Thanks, ReneeLouvier!

I'm about to turn 17, and if it had been a decade, I would've been 7, so now that I think of it, I would have had to be at least 3 or 4....so that was 13 or 14 years ago.

P.S. ReneeLouvier, I will PM you with my e-mail address.
I'd go for the BK fries, because after seeing "Super Size Me," I vowed never to walk into a McDonald's again unless there were a reason why I absolutely had to.

Hi everyone,
I can vaguely remember sometime in the early '90s (I guess it was 1993) when S.S. featured a sub-plot in a series of episodes starting with Telly breaking his arm and everything leading up to getting his cast off. Can someone who remembers this give me just a brief outline...
I think if I had just heard the song, it wouldn't have scared me, but hearing the song by itself after seeing it on S.S. freaked me out. As a matter of fact, it took me a while to be able to sit through an entire episode of S.S. without freaking out because I thought that segment was going to...
I am somewhat interested in seeing those as well, because I was not alive in the '70s and did not start watching SS until the early '90s (I was born in '89), so I have never seen a single episode with the original cast.

hey mike,
i think a lot of us classic SS fans are looking for something similar as well. we're doing everything we can to get Sesame Workshop to either release some classic episodes on DVD or at least air some on Sprout.
i'm in this with you!
