Don't start me on this . . .you did! . . . .you asked for it! . . . .I always thought the 'old format' was perfect the way it was. There was no need to give chunks of it away to Elmo or the Clubhouse. To me it's just stale repetition each week on the same theme whereas the old skits were random...
You should have seen him at the start . . .he was big, lovable and
DUMB! I agree with you,he has been getting a bit stale, a bit annoying these past years. Which is sad because as you said he is a vetran.
Well . . .I always judge whether a character has 'staying power' or was just a 'flavour of the moment' creation. I always thought Kingston had great potential; a Rosevelt Franklin for the nineties and beyond. Then . . .zilch! As for Clash getting caught up with one character; both Jim and Frank...
How about :
The 'letter on the street interview show' skit?
'G, Grover . . .G,George"
Ernie's TV that only shows the letter H
'La La La La Lemon'
'Oh G . . .That's Why I Love That Letter' song
Yes,oh,yes! That old lady in her rocking chair: "I can't take it, I can't take it" LOL! The moron Henry was played by Jim . . .I think
: "Hmm,Huh?" LOL!
What I always liked about the classic SS was not only did it teach the young 'uns, it sometimes slipped in some classic humor for the 'oldies' to dig. I'm 31 now, and I still cherish the classic skits and songs.I'm only now catching some funny 'gems' I hadn't seen previously.
I got a couple:
"the V in the sea" skit
" Small v . . .vaavoom!"
Harvey Kneeslapper's immortal "There's an I on your hat"
Superman's pitch for the letter S : "It's my favourite."
"Capital I"
How's those for starters?
