Hey, take it easy. Everybody is entitled to their opinion, and obviously, it will take some people longer to get used to Matt's Kermit than others. Don't take fair criticism as a personal attack.
I'm curious as to when this one was filmed, because I feel like the interview we saw the other day was a bit better than this video. The voice seems so monotone in this.
Also, I've noticed Matt has given Kermit a new quirk. Matt's Kermit is always doing a quick "look down, look up" when...
I'm actually a bit surprised Rizzo won't be making an appearance. I remember he was used in promotional images early on for the Hollywood Bowl, and if they're already recasting characters like Link for this performance, you would think Rizzo could be done as well.
I could see why you guys think that, because in this interview, it seems like less of a forced Kermit impression, and more that Matt is settling into the role (much like Steve did), therefore altering the voice a bit. I have a feeling what we see in this interview will be pretty close to the...
I actually liked this performance a lot more than in the Thought of the Week. It feels a lot less forced, maybe it's partially because he isn't reading off a script here. Honestly, I've watched the TOTW video so many times now, that I am already adjusting to the new voice.

Alright, I've been hesitant to bring this up. First off, let me make this clear: I am not Team Steve or Team Disney. I am Team Muppets.
DISCLAIMER: THIS INFORMATION HAS BEEN NEITHER CONFIRMED OR DENIED. I AM SIMPLY POSTING WHAT IS READILY AVAILABLE.
Now, there has been someone very active on...
Alright. I miss Steve as much as the next guy, but that is just plain rude. Do you have no respect? You aren't being strong and courageous by "Starting a movement". You are just showing a complete lack of empathy for the rest of the Muppeteers. Do you really think that Matt is celebrating that...
Switching gears for a second, I was reading through some comments on Steve's blog, and saw someone say that
Also interesting to note, they cited Production Assistants as their source.
Mike Quinn quickly popped in to correct that statement:
Sounds like it's his word against Mike's. Guess we...
I find it's easier to adjust to the voice by watching some Muppet Show era clips of Jim's Kermit, and then immediately switching over to Matt's video. It is a much closer match than between his and Steve's (which is what we are mostly accustomed to)
There is, of course, a lot of "outrage" that this doesn't sound like Kermit and that Steve should come back, but it's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. For the most part, people just seem to be happy to have Kermit back (also, the video is 87% likes, compared to dislikes)
The way I look at it, it seems that when Steve first took over, he tried very hard to mimic Jim, and it just felt unnatural. Over time, Kermit's voice changed into a higher pitched voice (closer to Steve's speaking tone), and we got used to it. I feel like the same thing will happen with Matt's...
It's really too bad that he performed Constantine before this, because now, we will always "hear Constantine" in his Kermit. It's not bad, but definitely a shock to the senses.
In a more critical sense, it sounds very nasally and forced at the beginning. By the time he says "My mistake, it's...
We are very quickly going to learn who the recasts are for these characters, as most of them will probably be appearing at the Hollywood Bowl. I feel like Peter is going to take over a majority of Steve's characters, including Rizzo. For a while, Rizzo was absent, but they just recently pushed...
So based on Steve's latest blog post, it seems Matt was also quite annoyed with the manner in which Steve was let go (if we are taking him at his word).
Also, he is really pushing for them to allow him to do the Hollywood Bowl performance. As much as I would love him to come back, I think the...
