Bear arrives on Disney+ The beloved series has been off the air for the past 15 years. Now all four seasons are finally available for a whole new generation.
It's a tough situation. Steve doesn't "own" Rizzo, and we all know that, but I understand where you're coming from. He has become such an established character (even more so in the TV series) that it would be odd to retire him right after they brought him back. Because of that, I am sure Rizzo...
It's totally possible, but that depends how...erm, accurate to his last portrayal Disney wants the character to be. IMO, Eric Jacobson as Guy Smiley was a drastic change in the character's voice. Obviously, now we've adjusted, but it was quite a shock to the senses when his new voice first...
Now that you mention it, Bill seems like a fair contender. When looking at Jim's version of the newsman, the voice was very similar to Waldorf, so if you wanted to stay consistent with the recasts, it would be Dave Goelz (but I know that won't be the case)
EDIT: I also just remembered that...
The Muppets on instagram posted what I believe to be a new image of the Newsman. It seems probable they were either filming video segments with him, or even rehearsing, so he might be the fifth confirmed recast for this show (joining Statler, Link, Beaker, and Kermit)
They say on their website that filming is prohibited, but people do it anyway. Chances are, some clips will make their way onto the web (if not the whole show)
I don't think that deserves any hate at all. Change is really hard to get used to, especially after having one performer do Kermit for over 20 years. It's completely natural to be on the fence.
Wow. Kermit is back. Matt is doing a wonderful job. For a little bit, I actually forgot to think about "who is performing Kermit", but rather just watched Kermit and Piggy have an interview. I am impressed!
We understand that he is still trying, but the odds that he would actually be allowed back are slim to none. Think about it, Disney doesn't want him back, the Henson family wasn't happy with his performance of Kermit. If he came back now, the work environment would be so hostile. Again, I would...
Just because someone like's Matt's portrayal of Kermit, doesn't mean they work for Disney. I swear to God, everyone around here is getting so uptight when someone doesn't have an opinion that matches theirs.
