    Building a posable puppet hand

My first attempt at a "how-to" video. I devised a technique for building posable puppet hands. This demo shows how to do it for a Project Puppet Simple Series pattern, but it will work with most any hand type you'd want to build. Hope this helps some folks out! How to Build a Posable Hand

    Eye Alert!

Okay builders - get to Walmart quick! Easter is a grand time to collect puppet eyes with all the plastic eggs available. I found these "baseball eggs" - perfectly round, perfectly halved and no impressions. The red stitches come off super clean with a swipe of acetone (finger nail polish...

    Puppet Auction

I just finished a puppet as a donation to TAO (Tidewater Arts outreach) Instruments of Art project. Each piece had to revolve around a musical instrument. They will be auctioned off to benefit TOA Singer/Songwriter festival. My puppet is based on Project Puppets Rotundo pattern (Forma...

What materials can I use for a spyrofoam puppet's pupils?

Hobby shops that sell radio control planes and cars are a GREAT resource for all kinds of puppet hardware. And they carry tiny screws too! Good luck!

    New Puppet: Plucky Red

Thanks for the kind words! Yes, the ukelele is included. Knowing the diverse crowd that will be there, I think the starting bid will be $300 and the "buy it now" will be in the $450 range. Not up to me, but I suggested $300 to start. Last year I entered a painted guitar and it sold...

    New Puppet: Plucky Red

Okay KNucklehead, here's a quick video. Just ignore the goofy operator... Plucky Red Video Test You may need to hit PAUSE, then PLAY to get the movie to work... Hey, can you guys (and gals) help me out with a suggestion for an opening bid price for this puppet? The folks I am donating too...

    Gasket Rubber Alternatives

I just used a thin mousepad - neoprene rubber with fabric on one side. VERY flexible and the fabric side up feels good on the fingers.

Röyksopp "The Alcoholic" A Puppet's Tale

An acquaintance made this video for a contest. He said he purchased the puppet in NY (maybe from one of our members?). I hope to work with him soon on a puppet-building workshop. Röyksopp "The Alcoholic" A Puppet's Tale

    The Wild Banana!

Thanks folks! To be honest, I really like the way he turned out, so I won't be too sad if he doesn't fly off the shelf (pun intended). I would like to see him perform eventually. He was born for show biz, as are all puppets.

    The Wild Banana!

Hey folks, some of you may have seen this little puppet in the last Project Puppet Super Hero contest. I would like him to go to a nice home where he can be cared for and played with, I think he'd be fun for a show - I just like to build them, not perform with them, so he's barely used. Nothing...

    Puppet Contest 2010

Thanks Puppetainer! I thinking Lightning Rod is a striking design... I'm with you - I never want to work with stretchy satiny material again. I started out with it, cut out my shapes, then after 10 minutes on the sewing machine, stopped, grabbed my keys and headed out to the fabric store.
