It actually was in that same vein, something I pointed out to anyone who'd listen whilst watching the Sullivan DVD. :)

    The Frazzletones

I actually saw Frazzle on a recent Sesame Street, he was in a spot with Keb' Mo (and Kermit, Elmo, etc.)...apparently they tacked fur and fangs on the tall orange Anything Muppet so Frazzle could actually move his mouth. And yes, I wrote Frazzle in a Muppet Show outline. The Swedish Chef is...

Anyone have the "We Are All Earthlings" CD?

I think this one was actually released in 1992 or afterwards, because I remember the liner notes saying that it was in memory of Richard Hunt. Unfortunately, I don't have it. But I do have the SONG "We Are All Earthlings", it's on "Sesame Street Platinum".

    Purple Hipster

He was basically a purple, black-haired Anything Muppet with (I believe) a paisley shirt. He was voiced by Northern Calloway while someone else (reportedly Jim Henson) did the puppetry. Frank Oz played the "dullard", the tall orange Anything Muppet with a large nose and a voice similar to Sam...

Ever seen Scooter and Janice together?

A similar theory with two other Richard Hunt characters! In the UK spot for the Diana Ross episode, Beaker sings "Feelings" backed by Rowlf, Animal, Janice and Zoot. Methinks Jerry Nelson was performing Janice for this one leaving Richard free to perform Beaker, seeing as how Floyd is...

What TMS songs would go over well on "Sesame Street"?

TMS->SS "To Morrow" (as sung by Ernie, Bert, and Herry) "Something's Missing" (UK spot from the Rudolf Nureyev ep) (as sung by an Anything Muppet and his girlfriend) "1-2-3-4 Legged Friend" (as sung by two Anything Muppet cowboys)

    Uncle Deadly

Y'know, I wanted a tattoo of UD for a LONG time, only I wanted it of his original pencil sketch (as seen in Vol. 5 of the Muppet Show Time-Life series). Makes UD look a little more intimidating. Well, I knew if I didn't get a tattoo of him, someone else would eventually! :)

Another Muppet Show Outline--special guest Mel Welles!

For those of you who don't know who Mel Welles is, he is an actor who's appeared in countless films, usually between the 1940's-1960's. He was in many of Roger Corman's sci-fi B-movies, most notably "The Little Shop of Horrors" where he created the role of Gravis Mushnik, and "The Undead", in...

Another Muppet Show Outline-Special Guest Lily Tomlin

SPECIAL GUEST: LILY TOMLIN COLD OPENING: Scooter tells Lily Tomlin she has 15 seconds to curtain, but "Ernestine the Telephone Operator" says she'll notify Lily. "One ringy-dingy...two ringy-dingies..." OPENING THEME OPENING NUMBER: Rowlf, in tribute to his former employer, sings "Big...

Characters that were on The Muppet Show and Sesame Street

Actually, now that I think of it, I forgot the octopus for "Octopus Blues" too. He was also in James Coburn's Muppet Show episode!

    Casting classic musicals with Muppets

Now that I think of it, Sam might make a TERRIFIC Mushnik in LSoH, where he finally discovers his inner performer. He'd be a great Judge Turpin in ST...but for some reason I always saw Uncle Deadly in that role. And Wayne as the Beadle...well, just about everything else happened to him... How...

Little Shop of Horrors Broadway Review

The chronology is correct in this: 1960--original film 1982--off-Bway 1986--film of musical (directed by Frank Oz with Brian and John Henson working behind the scenes and Heather Henson doing a walk-on as a dental patient) 2003--Broadway revival (It should be noted that Rick Moranis and...

From 411Mania.com: Emmet Otter meets American Idol

Emmet Otter Meets American Idol My favorite holiday special of all-time is Jim Henson's feel-good tale of two poor otters that risk their modest assets to buy each other a memorable Christmas gift. Of course, I am talking about none other than "Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas," which...
