I agree. This is one of my all time favorite Ernie songs, in fact I'm watching it every week on you tube so that I'll be able to sing it to my child come October.

I don't remember it being a huge hit. I know I watched it as it aired the first time, but as I grew up I never saw it repeated until I was married and on my own so I thought I had made the whole idea up the Henson puppets being on the show.
