Just heard on the radio that the infamous musical on Broadway about homosexual puppets living amongst each other will be closing soon along with 8 other shows. I guess the economy got the best of Broadway too. Well, it can only get so bad that it has to get better again.:smirk:
The current builders or builder for the puppet sculpts it out of a block of foam; it's like they went backwards with the process. That is how they use to do it back in the old Muppet Show days; although those Piggy's looked much better then the random people that are doing it now.
Then around...
The problem with doing this is it will still look like a stuffed animal when you are done. And if you do not support it correctly inside it will look worse then before you gutted all that polyfil stuffing out of it.
Stuffed animals are good for reference, but not to make an actual puppet out of.
Ah, that's not the real Kermit. That is a rendition of Kermit that Rick built. You can tell by the fingers that are completely off, as well as the extra thick legs and arms. Not a very good Kermit, but I'm assuming he fooled the audience as it looked like a green speck on the stage.
hmm... well, ah, I guess whatever floats your boat.. lol. Your hand gestures are a bit jerky, try and open the puppets bottom jaw rather than jerking the top of the head back and forth like that. It's very jolting to watch.
I would say definitely use foam and paint some liquid latex over it. Get a hair dryer and heat it up a bit to dry it. Then use an acrylic paint and do a dry-bush technique to color it to your preference.
Correct amundo.
Maybe one day we can see all the Muppets together again the way it should be. Right now they are kind of like the scarecrow from Wizard of Oz; half of them over here, half of them over there, and the other half over there. It's just too divided up and it's really starting to...
Well, I believe the story goes back about 5 years or so ago; he use to do a lot of work on Sesame. However, there was a problem with him taking ideas from one of the other principal performer's notepad, literally swiping notes to an idea for a show and characters that this performer had been...
Well layered meaning there would be some sort of structure for the head, however the body you could have more of a wire frame, similar to Big Bird or Snuffy. I believe the Trash-Heap from Fraggle Rock had this type of structure as well. I believe they use a sort of cheese cloth fabric to cover...
Ok, Just found Meet the Feebles on Amazon for $12, used. Very nice looking updated illustrated cover with a yellow clamshell case. Definitely worth the buy!
I believe it's out on DVD now; I still have the old VHS copy. I would assume the DVD must have some pretty good features on it as well.
It's been some time, I should see if it's available, I'd love to watch it in widescreen.
Honestly I remember seeing the film when it first came out, and I was a bit taken back by it; however, I didn't feel that it was inappropriate, I felt it was a type of humor where you had to know where it was coming from. And it certainly had a whole other satire behind it, nothing to do with...
Ahhh I see, that explains why I've never heard of Spotlight. Well, sounds like a cool store. We do not have many places like that here in the US anymore. We have a lot of small ma and pop type material stores, but no more large ones.
