You're right, I think that's why a lot of fans have been hoping for a movie where the Muppets play themselves. In Oz more than any other project they were pushed into roles that didn't make any sense.
I thought she was OK, but I honestly didn't see enough of her. But yeah I don't even want to...
I don't know, I mean I know the Muppets always took pop culture and twisted it. I just felt here that they let pop culture twist them.
But I agree, Return to Oz is probably more in the Baum style. :)
It's good that the movie included more elements from the book. However I don't think it had the same spirit as Baum's story (which the 1930's film did in my opinion).
According to William Shatner's book on the Trek movies, the idea of a "Kirk and Spock at the Academy" story was planned years ago, out of fear that the actors were getting too old. But they decided to do The Undiscovered Country instead.
I do want today's fans to be familiar with the classic...
Oh wow, I was just thinking of that one the other day! It's funny, my first exposure to that rather old song was from watching Sesame Street as a kid, lol. Same with Lobsters, I often think of this clip, lol:

Lol, that's so funny, the Sesame teasing lives on!
I love how Dave wasn't adverse to pulling his hijinks on Richard, even though he probably knew he'd regret it later, hehe.
I wish I was more like that sometimes, hehe. I've occasionally avoided a show or music because it was too popular. Which sometimes was a shame because I missed out on something good (not all the time but sometimes lol).
Kinda reminded me of what people said about Groucho Marx in real life (though Groucho was probably much worse, hehe). That he could be very brutal to people, even in his own family, and it was sometimes difficult to live with. But you also knew he genuninely cared about his friends and family...
Advancements in technology are indeed great, as long as the content is still doing its job. Of that I'm still concerned. I am definitely interested in reading what Street Gang had to say about all this. :)
