I just spoke to the theater myself. The two things I was very happy with was they're "camera friendly", and they're working on trying to devise a weekend pass type of thing (which would be awesome so we could go to things as we please because the screenings add up individually!)
WOW, Dave Goelz is making it to the East Coast. AWESOME. I will have to be at that event for sure! And I'd love to finally get a pic with Carroll Spinney!
Before they posted up the schedule they have now, they had a blurb on there that said guests would be announced July 1st. I'm just reiterating what I read. I don't have any further "inside" info other than what's been posted on the website so far and you're right as of right now, nothing's been...
I have a copy of it (I THINK I still do anyway.....I don't have the means of transferring it though, sorry) but I remember it wasn't that great. It briefly touched upon the history of Henson's Creature Shop but spent a lot more time on then-current films they worked on like NeverEnding Story...
Not neccessarily, R. Again, I was at two different events at the Museum of TV and Radio aka The Paley Center and one event had Muppeteers with no puppets, and one did.
I've been told they do unless there's someone around here who can confirm otherwise. I could be wrong. I don't believe that they are full-time employees of Henson or Sesame Workshop except like you said Kevin and possibly Carroll. I don't know what Steve Whitmire's deal would be. I would imagine...
This is really nothing new. Marty Robinson was doing work on Allegra's Window several years back on Nickelodeon, Kevin Clash, Alice Dinnean, etc. were working on The Puzzle Place on PBS, etc. They're freelance performers from what I understand. They get paychecks from Henson but I don't think...
You could also try just typing in Muppets and then select the clothing option. Like another person here said, these are RARE, only given out to select few employees/staff of the Henson/Muppet team. They're not going to be easy to come by if at all.
No sorry, RKunkler. I was actually just being sarcastic, hence the sarcastic, eye rolling Pepe face. I just found it kind of amusing that since someone here was given a personal gift from a member of the Henson family you think they can get you one too.
But as far as finding this...
Well I guess it depends on what they're going to be doing. If they're just going to be introducing the film or doing a Q&A or something then a puppet on their arm isn't really necessary. I went to the last Henson legacy event at the Museum of TV and Radio and Jerry Nelson was in attendance...
Well it could go either way. I've been at screenings in the NY area in the past where sometimes the performers bought their characters and sometimes they didn't....we'll just have to wait and see...
Hey I just joined as a member so I could get advanced tickets :) Yes it IS open to anyone, but just like the museum of TV and Radio in NY and LA (oh wait it's called the Paley center in NY now yuck) if you're a member you get first dibs on tickets, hence one of the benefits of becoming one. This...
Agreed, so many of them are so talented. I think Karen did her best singing with Mokey particularly that song on Fraggle Rock (I don't know the exact title sorry) that goes Dance with me, my ragtime queen....
Steve is phenomenal, Jerry is amazing because he can do so many styles of music as can...
I'm sorry I missed this but I can understand the magic of watching the Muppets with an audience. Everytime I go to one of the Henson related events at the Museum of TV and Radio it's truly wonderful to see people who still appreciate their brand of humor and to see younger generations enjoying...
