If Jim hadn't died in 1990

There's not very many T.V. specials in general produced today, though. I mean when was the last time you saw a NEW animated Christmas special on regular broadcast television? They keep reairing Garfield, and Charlie Brown Christmas and Rudolph and all that, and I'm grateful. But except for the...

If Jim hadn't died in 1990

I agree. I've always been very interested in Jim's early work and everytime I attend these retrospective things at the local museums in NYC and even the Huntington event last summer, I am AWED by how much his mind was always going creatively and like you said was looking towards the future...

If Jim hadn't died in 1990

It's awkward, but you could say the same thing about most pop cultural geniuses who have passed on too young. Perfect example: what if John Lennon and George Harrison were still alive? Would the Beatles ever reunite, what kind of music would they be making today and so forth. I have been...

    Paul Louis

This probably should've been posted under the generic puppetry topic. Not in Henson people........

Muppets at the Flea Market or Garage Sale

I went through a small phase when I was around 13 when we were moving and threw out half of my Sesame Street dolls. I kick myself mentally everyday that I tossed out my original Super Grover, Cookie Monster and Herry dolls. I also carelessly tossed my Fisher Price Miss Piggy doll and Fozzie...

Muppets at the Flea Market or Garage Sale

I am so tempted to get one of those turntables but I don't have the physical space to set it up near my computer. :(

Muppets at the Flea Market or Garage Sale

As far as Muppet stuff? Thats easy: a STACK of about 10 original Sesame Street 45 records still in the original sleeves with trippy 1960s illustrations on them and early cast photographs, etc. Some of the records unfortunately are really scuffed up and not really playable but most of them...

    Better Muppet shirts needed

They have an Oscar the Grouch one like that where it's modeled after the "old school" Ozzy Osbourne T-shirts. Same kind of font and everything.

How come non of the muppeteers did the voices for muppet cartoons?

Not only that but I think the timing of the animated shows had the Muppeteers too busy with other projects. The Muppets were booming in the mid 80s with the various T.V. specials, Sesame Street is always there, some people were overseas filming Labyrinth, etc.

Does anybody think you're weird for watching Sesame Street?

Yes, but people think I'm weird for a lot of reasons. I don't care and I'm used to it :)

    Couple of questions for Muppeteers

Gosh, I don't know. I would hope they all know "tricks of the trade" so as to not physically exhaust or hurt themselves. Some of those positions they get into are really rough....

    Henson Company NY

I do, and I know people who have including myself. Especially if that person has died in their house. I also believe the same is true with animals.

    Couple of questions for Muppeteers

I know Dave Goelz has had shoulder surgery in the past from years of puppeteering. It's very physically demanding and can cause some long term issues...

Sounds like it was a great time! Thank you for the report and I'm glad you had fun! :)

    Henson Company NY

Were you there? :) How great was that? I also saw a Henson employee there who shall remain nameless since I know he frequents several of the fan sites. But I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to him. I didn't want to lose my place in line going into the theater because I had left work...

    Jim's Memorial in London

Wow I totally forgot about that. I'm so sorry I didn't attend the funeral service they had here in NYC. But I was kind of young at the time, around 13.

    Henson Company NY

Yeah he was one of my early childhood crushes and actually for this particular event he was not even originally announced: he came as a surprise guest because he lives in the NYC area. I really went originally to see Meredith Baxter and Michael Gross. So to have Michael J. Fox show up was a real...

    Henson Company NY

He seemed to be doing well. I think whatever medication he's on these days for his Parkinson's is much improved from a few years back. I remember seeing him on T.V. interviews in the past several years ago where he had slurred speech, etc. Now he just kind of shakes back and forth while he was...
