In my email this morning (I subscribe to the NY Mets newsletter): apparently tomorrow is Sesame Street Day at Shea Stadium! Children get a free Sesame coloring book and a walkaround Ernie is going to be there. Too bad I gotta work.....
Exactly. They both have their creative strengths and weaknesses but put them together as a team, nobody can touch them....except for maybe John and Paul ;)
I would love to see this in a stage version. This film has become one of my favorite films, as well as one of my favorite Henson projects. I think it's amazing. I'd love to see this in a theater setting......
I heard about this story sometime ago and thought it was one of the greatest stories I ever read. It always upsets me to hear about children passing, but I'm glad she had her dream come true before passing on.
Yeah I don't know it's a show that just annoys me. I know it's geared towards a female audience but as a female I find it very degrading. And I always respected Barbara Walters for what she has done for television news/journalism and this show is just such a low point for her career in my...
I'm glad to hear Eric is doing a good job with Fozzie. I haven't seen enough of him yet performing him to decide whether I like his interpretation of the character yet. Same with Piggy but I absolutely adore his work as Grover on Sesame.
I gotta check it out over the weekend. I set up my VCR to record today since I had to work. Oh, the View is horrendous. I never liked that show. I had some hopes for it when Rosie was on and then they couldn't handle her open honesty, so screw them....
My life has been so stressed and hectic lately I honestly forgot today was the anniversary of Jim's death until I came to Muppet Central. Jim will never be forgotten (even if I forgot this date! :()
Thanks for the kind words, Skye. It was a very emotional thing for me to meet Michael J. Fox. It was a lifelong dream come true and I told him when I met him "You have no idea how much this means to me", and he squeezed my shoulder and said "Thank you".
Yes, I hope he's with us for...
That's because Victor never worked on the actual film itself. He was the shipping coordinator from the workshop in NYC where they sent out the puppets to the set in North Carolina. I should know...I started interning for Henson right as they were wrapping up filming for MFS and Victor was my...
I met Carroll Spinney briefly when I was interning for the Jim Henson Company and they let me visit the Sesame set during that time. He was very nice and accommodating.
I have a copy of it but I have no means of duplicating it and I will not send out my original tape of it. I have been asked before about that in the past....
I hear ya. People who are diehard fans like us on this site don't understand that the general public don't know that much about the Muppets. I know people to this day who still get confused about which one is Bert and which one is Ernie! I work for a film photography archive and one guy who...
You'd be surprised how many people I talk to on a daily basis who only see Jim Henson as a "children's entertainer" and as kids stuff. They have NO idea of his early more adult oriented work, the clever humor on the Muppet Show or in later projects. It's sad.
