It's a Great Day to Be a Muppet Fan!

Exactly. That's how I feel about all these dumb remakes of classic movies too. Did we REALLY need another "War of the Worlds", etc. The classic stuff still holds up whether it's movies, Muppets, comedy, etc. The jokes and most of the songs they used on the Muppet Show was material harking back...

It's a Great Day to Be a Muppet Fan!

I don't think it's "erroneous". I think it's a matter of opinion. This is just how I feel towards current projects these days :concern:

It's a Great Day to Be a Muppet Fan!

BINGO! Im not saying there aren't other talented writers out there who would be appropriate for the Muppets but let's be realistic: Jerry wrote for them as CHARACTERS. As PERSONALITIES. He knew what Kermit would do, etc. That's one of the huge things that I think is missing these days.

It's a Great Day to Be a Muppet Fan!

This is true, but I have to say I'm the same way about any classic brands. I'm very anti-Disney these days, have no interests in their new projects, not into the new Peanuts specials, new Warner Bros. stuff, etc.

It's a Great Day to Be a Muppet Fan!

Nah there's been a few bumps in the road. I'm not one of those people who thinks everything has been crap since Jim died (and there ARE some people out there) but the lousy projects have outweighed the good ones in my opinion.

IS IT? Speak for yourself, my friend:)

It's a Great Day to Be a Muppet Fan!

I don't think we MUST accept anything. I'm all for getting them out there again into the public eye but not if they're going to become cartoon parodies of themselves and what they once were. I think the one thing that whoever's writing these new projects has forgotten one very important thing...

It's a Great Day to Be a Muppet Fan!

I don't know, maybe something's wrong with me, but I'm not really that excited about any of these new projects coming out. After seeing that awful DC Live special and being hugely disappointed by it, unless there's some MAJOR improvements from the writing aspect of these projects I think we're...

Marilyn Sokol on All My Children

Yeah I knew all this..I told ya, my mom's a big AMC fan/ "expert";)

Marilyn Sokol on All My Children

So I had some spare time today at work to look up Roscoe's credits on IMDB. According to that site, like Mike said, he started on Sesame in 1974, but he was on All My Children in 1976. So we were both right :)

Marilyn Sokol on All My Children

Yeah but I believe he was on AMC in the late 70's. I'll have to check the Soap Opera Encyclopedia we have at home....

Marilyn Sokol on All My Children

Yep,Roscoe Orman was on All My Children in the late 70s before he joined Sesame Street. He played a pimp who I think even ended up raping another character on the show. My mom is a HUGE All My Children and One Life to Live fan. I'll ask her if the name Marilyn Sokol rings a bell and who she played.

Muppet Movie on Nickelodeon this Sunday!

Yeah but who owns what doesn't always dictate what channel something will air unless it's specifically produced by that channel like original SciFi Channel movies, etc.

Muppet Movie on Nickelodeon this Sunday!

I didn't say Nick does either, but I don't think it's odd. Broadcasting contracts, etc. don't have to do with who owns the product. Nickelodeon used to run Family Ties, that's now owned and being distributed by Paramount.

Muppet Movie on Nickelodeon this Sunday!

Not really that odd: in the early-mid 90s, every weekend Nickelodeon aired Muppet Matinee and showed various Muppet T.V. specials of the past, episodes of the Jim Henson Hour, etc. Plus for awhile they were running the Muppet Babies cartoons and the Muppet Show on weeknights. So Nickelodeon...

The Muppets Take Laugh Break on sirius radio

You might as well wait now until they release the details of the Sirius/XM merger There will be different pricing plans, etc. to choose from. So did anyone hear/record this show on Sirius?

    Sesame Day at Shea Stadium

I'm not a huge sports person either. I just follow the Mets.

The Muppets Take Laugh Break on sirius radio

Do you have a Sirius model that records? That might be the first idea and then maybe you can somehow transfer that to your computer. I don't know if there's any way to snag the online stream. I have XM, so I don't know much about Sirius' technology.

    Sesame Day at Shea Stadium

It's for one day, for tomorrow's game (Thursday August 7th). That's why it's Sesame Street DAY. LOL That's the promotion. I'm not surprised there's not more promotion. Mets do a promotion at almost every home game and each day is different. They can't over promote any one more than the other...
