I'd love to see full season sets too but I think the reason they didn't do that is because there was probably too many copyright/legalities involved. Think of all the music, animation, etc. that's been used over the years. They probably would've had to go to all those people and get the "ok"...
Exactly. Will I be disappointed if there's no signing afterwards and/or meet and greet? Absolutely but just to see them onstage (especially Frank Oz who rarely does stuff like this) and hear them share their stories, etc. will be phenomenal. If this is anything like the event they had in...
Very cool, Mike. Thanks for telling us about it. I met Carroll Spinney once briefly and missed him on his book tour but I have a Big Bird drawing he sent me after I wrote to him a few years back. Also sent me a nice autographed picture of Oscar and a nice card/letter. Looking forward to seeing...
Thanks for link, Michael. I'm sorry I missed the book signing but I work nowhere near Lincoln Center and I was exhausted yesterday after first day back at work after the holiday weekend. You know I was too tired to miss this kind of opportunity. Was it very crowded?
MIKE! You have made my day! I was wondering if the panel would be accessible. Even if I don't get pics to get the book signed and shake hands with these people will be a joy!
I would've loved to have shelled out the money but unfortunately I have too many expenses lately as it is. Keep in mind the college might still be closed for the holidays. Some colleges don't go back until mid January. I would think something like a box office would be open but ya never know...
Yeah I work for a photography archive in NYC but I have no special press passes or anything from them. All I have is a business card, but I wouldn't want to get my company involved in any way either. I'm not going on business unfortunately...
I'm gonna wager they will probably have the standard rules of no video/photography allowed but I'm sure thats' not going to stop people.
As far as photo ops/autographs, I had emailed one of the women in charge of these seminars at the college. She told me the following: Thank you so much for...
Thanks for the information. It's ok. I think driving is going to be our best bet. We're going to be coming in from Manhattan. We actually ended up getting a hotel room in Wayne, NJ as a precaution to the weather as well. I'm sure if it's really horrendous they'll end up canceling the event, but...
Does anyone know if there's any other public transportation out there besides buses that are listed on the website for the college? My boyfriend and I are planning on driving but if the weather ends up being horrendous we're looking for another alternative.
My copy of Street Gang was shipped day after Christmas, so I'm still waiting for it. I pre-ordered it months ago when I first heard about it from Amazon.com
First half I thought was very corny, but the second half made up for it. I LOVED seeing more of the secondary characters and actually having them speak. Was thrilled to see Scooter, Lew Zealand, etc. LOVED Paul Williams as the elf, though wasn't into his songs for this one as I have been for...
Thanks for the link to the seating chart as well. I am also very concerned about the weather. I reserved a hotel room in nearby Wayne, NJ since it's a nighttime event so it's a lot of back and forth for me and my boyfriend and who knows what the weather will be. I do recall reading somewhere on...
I LOVE the 20th SS special, still one of my favorites to this day. I agree I think the folks at Henson/Sesame had more say over those specials. Even Elmopalooza had it's moments. My favorite part was when Grover got the limo lost in Mexico and you hear the coyotes outside howling lol
I gotcha. In the big picture, PBS would be considered network television but it's not paid for by big corporate sponsors and advertising like the networks. I work in the DVD industry and deal with every station/company out there so I assure you, I know the difference, but it doesn't surprise me...
I know the difference between network stations and public broadcasting channels, but thank you for the explanation for those who might not.
I agree with Elmo's Christmas Countdown. It just seemed like kind of thrown together, and like you said basically had a very paper thin plot and the rest...
Oh my goodness, I was just telling my sister about this special last night and how horrid it was. It's amazing when you think that and Xmas Eve on SS was made only a few years apart.
