I agree it would be nice to know what's going on. I of course also hope Steve is well, but if this is some sort of career move by either himself, Disney or whatever, it's beyond our control. If this is the direction they are taking we as fans have to accept it. If they continue to get negative...
It was definitely unfortunate circumstances to have a fill in for, I agree with you on that. The puppetry was a little stiff, but again if they didn't have much time to prepare, I wouldn't expect much more than what we saw. It would be nice to find out why Steve wasn't there. On the other hand...
Ok so I finally watched the clip with the "imposter" Kermit and all I have to say is, I don't understand why everyone is that upset. I didn't think whomever it was was that bad. I thought the singing as Kermit was decent. The speaking so so but you know what? If this is someone who will either...
I have yet to watch the clip of this recent incarnation of Kermit (plan on doing so tomorrow when I'm home). But I can think back to when I heard Steve perform Kermit for the first time on the Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson and remember having alot of mixed emotions. Heck, I never even went to see...
No definitely not. The worst part was is that since it was so old, the polish started to crack, hence causing the mug itself to crack. I was annoyed and said to my friend if he really didn't want it and was going to do that to it, I would've taken it for my collection with no problem. This is...
I'm a big Olivia Newton-John fan so I'd love to see her on there. They should really get her for the upcoming seasons since they're focusing more on the enviornment these days and Olivia is a big supporter of that kind of work.
I'd like to see Tim Curry since he worked so well with the...
Cool clippings. Ah the Sigma mugs...one of my former friends had a Kermit one and for some dumb reason decided to paint around his mouth with pink nail polish so it would look like he's wearing lipstick
I know, I was interested in that project too. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and to see the Muppets do a Halloween themed special would've been fun. Well, maybe they'll have one ready for next year? Unfortunately Craig didn't go into specifics as to why it wasn't going to happen this...
According to Craig Shemin when I saw him at the recent Muppet Movie screening in Brooklyn, NY he said the Halloween special wasn't happening that they ran behind schedule and it wasn't going to be out in time.
I agree. It's a very inactive profile. It wouldn't surprise me if Steve never shows up on there. He never was a huge online guy, even when I first started talking to him back in the early 90s on the old Prodigy internet service, he would only post sporadically on the Muppet topics there. Jerry...
I'm not sure if it's the sole reason but John Tartaglia just started a new series of live variety shows at a local comedy club here in NYC. I'm wondering with his scheduling with that and being more involved with theater and stuff that he has decided he can't upkeep that and the Sprites show?
Actually the Jim Henson Company has a very extensive archive/database of their characters past and present. I know this because when I was interning for them in 1999, I took digital photos of the characters and helped work on the database with them at the time. They still use it to this day but...
I think Kevin must've gone into hiding cause I couldn't find him myself. Just fan pages for him.
Well I think it's pretty awesome for your first time doing that kind of puppetry it was at a demonstration with a real Muppet performer. That's very very cool.
Oh my god that was you? I was at that event. You were hysterical! :) I think Tyler would love to hear from you. He friended me. He was very nice when I met him at that museum event.
I'm not sure how much detail I can get into because Craig Shemin mentioned that being this was the first public screening of this particular collection of clips he didn't want too much information out there. But I guess it's ok to say there was a mix of clips from Muppet projects we have either...
It was a fun time. From the board here, the people I recognized and chatted with was Stulz and Ploobis. It was so great to finally see The Muppet Movie on the big screen with an audience and the Muppet 201 clips were great!
Unfortunately Frank Oz was supposed to be in attendance but couldn't...
Sounds good. I will have to think about a topic and get back to you as soon as I can. Maybe if any of us attends any Muppet events I can write a review of that as well too. I always enjoy reading about the things here people attend in their hometown.
