This sounds great! Does anyone know why this particular date? I can't think off the top of my head if it's special in the Frank Oz/Jim Henson "timeline" so to speak...
Agreed, I still get goosebumps when I watch the original video since it was such an amazing thing for the time (as was the whole Live Aid event). I was thrilled they put as much footage of the concert that survived PLUS the original video on DVD a few years back.
Yes, I love the original version so much that I'm surprised that they didn't include some of the original performers in the new one. I could've done without the auto tuning and Wyclef's yelling in the new one. How great would it be if they did a Muppets version and had Animal doing that part? :)
I agree. I understand people are going to have their opinions as they should and they should have the right to express it, but yeah targeting funerals which are very personal, sad functions and turning it into a protest site is just wrong.
I hate extremists in any group that while they are...
I gotta agree I am less and less in tune with pop culture these days because I feel like everything is lacking severely in talent and creativity. I'm sick of most of these reality shows (guilty of watching two lately though-The Hills and Celebrity Apprentice), and I'm sick of the movie remakes...
I'm always skeptical these days when I hear about new Muppet projects coming out, only because I think the quality just doesn't hold up and is not timeless like many of their past projects. HOWEVER, given the popularity of Jason Segel and others involved with this film and it seems like they are...
I'll say again what I said earlier when this whole thing came up: To me when I think of Kermit the Frog I always think of Jim's Kermit. It took me a LONG time to warm up to Steve's Kermit and I think he does a great job. I didn't even go see Muppet Christmas Carol in the movie theater in it's...
Fair point. I guess I somehow missed the information about the plushes and figurines. Just as well as I would've been tempted to buy them and am rapidly running out of room for collectible stuff lately!
D.W., that's exactly why I'm hanging onto my Time Life sets, because after being disappointed that they cut out the Vincent Price song on the Season 1 set that Disney put out, you're right, who knows what else they're going to chop out of the future season releases. I'd rather have both to be safe
I disagree, I'm very happy with the products they put out. I thought the book was definitely affordable ($40 something bucks off Amazon and probably can be found cheaper elsewhere) and worth every penny since it comes with the DVD of the first episode as well for those who may not have bought...
Hey I'm not going to complain about no 40th anniversary special. Would it have been nice to have one? Sure, but so far this year for the anniversary we've gotten an AMAZING coffee table book, CD releases of some of the classic albums, various book signings around the country, etc. Besides after...
I bought my copy way before the days of Ebay, Amazon and other online market places back in the early 90's. I paid about $60 something bucks for it at the time, because it was nowhere to be found and things weren't as easily obtainable on the internet as they are now. It's an AMAZING book for...
I have both these sets and plan on keeping each. Especially since the Time/Life volumes had complete episodes, and you have the little Brian Henson intros in there which are nice.
I was very sad to hear this. I only got into Lynn's work over the past 15 years or so from her role on the former Showtime series "Rude Awakening". I had the pleasure of meeting Lynn twice in recent years: Once at the 2005 Broadway flea market, and once about two years later at a charity...
