I agree that it's good that Nick at least shows the classic Spongebob's as much as the newer ones. I honestly haven't seen the new TMNT show (I'm all about the old TMNT show, and worry that watching the new one might ruin it for me, but maybe that's just 90s' kid paranoia).
And, yes, I do...
I'll make two lists (one for my favorites, and another for those I found least likable (which is, in my opinion, a compliment. It means the villain is convincing):
Favorite:
1. Long John Silver
2. Nicky Holiday
3. Constantine
Most unlikable (remember, a compliment):
1. Miss Bitterman
2. Doc...
The Cracked article does make the movie sound hilariously bad (particularly because even its trailer is ridiculously cliche).
To your first point, I thought the same thing (being formerly Christian myself). My parents and younger brothers are still Christian, but my mom and dad still watch...
I think of those, a special is most likely. It might be too late for a Christmas special for this year (unless, by chance, they've been making it, and just keeping it hush-hush), but maybe a non-holiday special or TV movie could happen in the next year or so (maybe even a Christmas special in 2015).
i doubt you ever had sympathy, but that's besides the point entirely. I'm far from a rabid anti-fan of anything. I don't regularly go out of my way to tell fans of things I dislike (like Frozen, or Family Guy, or pretty much anything Nickelodeon has made in recent years) that they're stupid...
1. People with a different opinion do not = trolls. They just have different opinions. And, guess what? People can have opinions that are unpopular without being trolls.
2. So criticizing characters for being weak or stupid or poorly-written is a thin argument? And saying that people are wrong...
I would ask anyone who, with a straight face, would try to argue that Frozen is oh-so-feminist (or more female empowering than other Disney films) because it passes the Bechdel test, doesn't have a woman being saved by a man, etc. to read this...
What makes me mad is whenever someone expresses an unpopular opinion, it's met with whining and shouting down (i.e. saying you thought The Muppets was the worst Muppet movie). You know, why don't you tell those people (who can't stand unpopular opinions (no matter what the reason) to grow up...
We already have Halloween and Christmas scrapbooking stuff in my store. Now, that I can understand, since people who do scrapbooking like to plan ahead (and a lot of our Halloween stuff is pretty cool. I really don't mind Halloween stuff out in August. Gets me hyped!).
Not true. It's just that movies that do have villains who don't have the typical look (Atlantis and Rescuers Down Under come to mind; they had masculine-looking male villains) tend to get more overlooked. The only not-overlooked Disney movie I can think of that had a masculine guy as the villain...
I'm sorry; why is the woman obligated to smile? I don't smile much either. So what? Although, it is silly to not smile just because she thinks her fanbrats won't like it.
I would have liked to see Mulan talk to another woman (like her mother, or her grandmother) about something besides a man. I think her scenes with her family, though, were supposed to show that she was the closest to her father (hence her going to war in his place to begin with), but it still...
True, but he didn't need to save her (she saved him...twice). And I think it seemed he ended up attracted to her because of her bravery and strength, not her beauty (in fact, as was sometime brought up in some of my LGBT lit/media classes in college, he seemed attracted to her before even...
I finally saw Frozen (my mom got it On Demand). While I don't think it's bad (it's cute, and has likable characters, and good animation), it does have some flaws that people overlook (I thought there was too much singing, and while the songs weren't bad, a couple of them could have been cut, and...
That's not always the case. Ursula, from The Little Mermaid, had henchmen (her eels) who were smart, efficient, and never betrayed her. In fact, that was the reason she went nuts when Ariel caused her to accidentally kill them. Then again, that's more an exception than the rule (oddly enough...
I regret that I haven't seen all of A Muppet Family Christmas. Just bits here and there. I might see if I can buy it on DVD or watch it online somewhere.
