I always thought Don't Eat the Pictures was never released on DVD because of some kind of rights thing with the Met. Museum of Art. They do still sell VHS's of it on their site and in the museum's gift shop, though.
Hey now, I was around 3 years old when I went to movies as a kid. I know my sister definitely was when we saw Follow That Bird in theaters when it came out. The difference is, alot of kids have ADD nowadays mainly due to the parents' fault, and Elmo in Grouchland had that pace about it too...
I agree with what you're saying to an extent, but in my opinion, bad script was what sabotaged this one. And I actually haven't enjoyed Joey's contributions to Sesame much. If there's one film that's worse than Muppets From Space, it's Elmo in Grouchland. Great performer but he should stick to...
The scene with Gonzo and the Noah's Ark bit was actually one of the best scenes in the movie in my opinion and that's because it was written by the late great Jerry Juhl. The biggest problem I've had since Jim passed away is the writing on many of these projects that just don't seem to...
Eh, I don't know I thought it tried too hard and suffered because of it. And I think it suffered more from a horrendous script than the director though I agree he's definitely to blame as well.
I don't mean like pop culture references when I say "hip" I just mean I just felt like through the whole film they were trying too hard to be cool, and that's my biggest problem with any form of entertainment today and in recent years: when it tries and FEELS like it tries to hard. That's what...
It was definitely better than the TV Christmas movies, and some of the other projects they came out with after that, but after seeing Christmas Carol and Treasure Island it just seemed they hit rock bottom with Muppets From Space. It seemed to be more on the cheap, lacked a lot of other stuff...
I think it just lacked a huge part of what makes the Muppets the Muppets. The jokes felt forced, I think they tried to be too "hip" (which is my fear with the new upcoming film), I don't think it had really any tender moments that the Muppets greatly mix in with the wackiness.
I think one of...
Well, again I hope this movie proves me wrong, because while I won't sit here and say that everything post Jim has sucked, cause it hasn't, after Muppets From Space, I am very skeptical about how another big screen Muppet film is going to pan out. Because so far I am just not excited about this...
See, I'm in the minority that I actually love "When Love Is Gone" in MCC. It does slow down the movie a tad, but I think it's a beautiful song (maybe because I'm a big Paul Williams fan I'm biased...).
