I haven't been beside myself since hearing the news. I've been a fan of Bowie's since I was 10 years old (I'm 38 now), thanks to Labyrinth and from there my fandom just took off. I've had the opportunity to see him perform twice, once live on The Today Show when he was promoting his album...
I finally got the chance to watch this clip recently. I think they did wonderful contemplating it. I don't think Rosie Perez had the comic timing as well as Rita Moreno, but definitely a nice tribute, and it was really sweet to see Rita's facial reactions in the audience. I'm glad they...
I hope they continue to add classic episodes. I just texted my husband since our Verizon contract is expiring soon, that I want to keep HBO for the classic Sesame and some of the other ON Demand films and shows.
Thank you so much for sharing your photos! And your puppet is amazing too, nice work! I hope to one day be able to visit this wing and the museum and general. It looks like a wonderful place! And I LOVE Madame! I grew up watching her with her puppeteer on "Solid Gold" as a child of the 80s. Also...
I think for a lot of years now they've been down playing Fozzie's intelligence as a character and I'm not sure how that came to be. The worst was in MTI with the whole Mr. Bimbo thing. Wasn't funny, just made Fozzie out to be kind of pathetic and sad and didn't have a mind of his own. Fozzie to...
I politely disagree. There were many scenes throughout the Muppet Show that alluded to a darker/"meaner" humor. How about Floyd tossing Foo Foo into a dressing room drawer telling him to "Breathe through the keyhole"? How about Miss Piggy being mean to Gonzo when he tried to flirt with her over...
I've never seen Chelsea's show, but I personally like mean-spirited, shocking/cringe style humor. I think that's what made this episode work, because her and Scooter WERE such opposites, it was uncomfortable to watch in scenes, which to me is what makes this series funny in general on a whole...
This episode was hysterical. Every episode is getting better each week, and I just love this show. My husband is now all on board with Pepe and loved the delivery of some of his lines especially "Your heart is very very stupid". We had to rewind that on the DVR and watch that scene again. :) I...
I thought it was a good start. I chuckled a lot, but didn't laugh out loud hysterically yet. I don't want to sit here and compare it to the original Muppet Show, because it's not, and it's unfair to the hard work everyone put in for this and the past two films to keep the franchise alive. I...
I thought this was a great special. It always amazes me no matter how many Henson bio things I've seen, I still learn new things, and see footage I never saw before. Plus it was great to see something focused just on Jim so close to the premiere of the new TV show and his birthday.
Just read this on my lunch break here at work. Great article! I knew about his wife being his business manager and that they were high school sweethearts. I'm surprised that the article didn't mention his performing Otis around the Sid & Marty Krofft amusement park that he worked at in Atlanta, GA.
Wow, neat find! Where did you get him from? I'm guessing he's not THAT old for the simple reason based on the copyright: Muppets Holding Company is the present corporate name since they've been owned by Disney, so I would gather this has been out at least since The Muppets feature film from a...
I'm calm, didn't say this was fact just saying that it's not impossible and someone is telling me otherwise. I agree, unless we hear from people in the know that it is a rumor just not so far fetched.
On that note, more than willing to change the subject.
First of all I didn't realize you were the resident "expert" on Disney attractions. Second, if Disney is trying to push a new Muppet series why would they close the only Muppet Disney attraction in their park? Why have they not released the rest of the Muppet Show on DVD when they have...
Who said it was a lie? This is not the first time I've recently heard about this and they already closed down the one in Disneyland . Disney in the past few years has been revamping their classic attractions to tailor it to the newer popular stuff. Pirates of the Caribbean has new animatronics...
I agree. I understand if they're doing a public appearance geared towards children specifically to keep that "magic" alive, but for a crowd of convention goers, mostly those of age who grew up with these characters I think it's a real treat for folks to see the performers alongside the...
Agreed, I'm so glad someone put it on YouTube and filmed the whole thing for those of us who couldn't be there. I thought everyone was terrific, I laughed a lot while watching and even got teary eyed for a couple of comments. I'm really looking forward to this show in September!
