Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Heh, the chapter title is "Watership Fraggles" but it's nothing like the Robot Chicken episode (which I like), I promise.
The burning water happens in the real world. If you're a National Geographic reader you've probably already guessed what's up with the water. If not, Google "burning...
This fic may not be what people pave come to expect from me, but sometimes I really feel strongly about something, and I have to express it somehow. And with Earth Day a few weeks away, well, this is the right time for it.
I'll be posting this story one part per day until it's finished. This...
I hope that the Fraggles will return to TV for a regular run rather than a once-and-done marathon.
Not that I get The Hub, or any other non-broadcast channel; I have my DVDs. But I still want them to be out there for everyone.
I like odd, often short-lived stuff mostly. Stuff by Donna Barr and Roberta Gregory. The Muppet & Fraggle comics. Usagi Yojimbo. Anything by Sergio Aragones. Even the Kevin Keller Archie comics, because I consider buying those a way of saying "thank you!" with a few dollars. Marvel's Oz...
I used to do elaborate April Fool pranks. One year I unveiled a new design for my ReBoot website that had a lot of my pet peeves on it: vague section titles, annoying & irrelevant background music, bandwidth-wasting animated GIF, trailer cursor, and in general form over substance. Most people...
I just checked Fabric.com. They ship to Canada, and this note on their shipping page sounded encouraging:
I'd suggest checking them out. Their luxury shag fur is the exact same fur that Mendel's sells as "Punky Muppet", at a cheaper price. I've been buying from Fabric.com and have been very...
I agree. When a person posts a joke, it's meant for the whole board, or at least the segment that chooses to read the thread. Unless it's a mean-spirited joke, I think it's simple killjoy-ing to spoiler it for everyone except the first person to call it out.
On a purely fannish level, why not make replicas, if that's what you're into? It's a good challenge and test of skill. And it's utterly awesome to have a puppet you made yourself of a character you like. Plushies and Fisher-Price puppets are nice, but this is closer to the real thing.
Or...
Ah. I must have misunderstood, because the program lists new exhibits going up in the spaces that those exhibits occupied. If the museum is expanding, this is very good news.
Thank you for giving us the official word, Melissa, and welcome to Muppet Central. I may be coming by around the end...
The tail sleeve looks so weird to me, kind of like he's a Fraggle naga, but it makes sense for a puppet that is going to be used on camera. It's better to see a bit of sleeve than an arm.
