Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
I really can't decide if this should go here or in a thread about 50th Anniversary Celebration or it's own thread, but this set was able to include "I Remember", which hadn't even aired on the show yet (and I haven't checked to see if it has aired in a season 50 episode yet), then it was...
I think a lot of the best-known classic segments were sometimes absent for an entire year. There is so much content that it was probably hard to air everything every season. Though I kind of feel like the letter and number segments would be most likely to be shown a lot, as those letters and...
Another fantastic-sounding episode that I really hope I get to see someday (and the street scenes were repeated in season 17, maybe I did see it when I was 1).

Yes, it does. Seems to be the case with quite a few of the episodes that have recently been fully guided with images.
It's ironic that Big Bird comments that Snuffy didn't use to be so hard to find when he was in his normal big size. Considering the street scenes are from season 17, it's...
The Muppet Show and first two movies were big hits, and were all originally done by ITC, who then did The Dark Crystal.
Fraggle Rock was not produced or distributed by ITC, but do you suppose Jim Henson had considered pitching the show to ITC?
Given the success of TMS and the movies, it...
The wiki now has full image guides for both episodes featuring Countess von Backwards (unless she turned up again and just wasn't in the scripts provided).

That second one actually looks like an awesome...
In the last decade, many fans have said that Elmo and Cookie Monster are the most popular Sesame Street characters. But have there been many segments starring both of them? I can't really think of many, off-hand there's "A Monster Went and Ate My Red Two", but that's about it.
And have there...
I liked high school better. I interacted with pretty much everybody regularly (I don't really know what stereotype or clique I would be part of - well, class clown, but what else?), I felt popular (despite not doing any extracurricular activities - I regret not doing that), I felt like most of...
In the auto-scroll levels in the Mario games, how come there's still a time limit? If it's auto scroll, until the very end of the level when you get to the goal point, you're pretty much guaranteed to get to the end (or die) before running out of time, and before the "time running out" music...
Found another episode to show Biff without his hat (well, I didn't actually see the episode, but...). Muppet Wiki added a guide for episode 1955, where Biff gets sick while doing work at Bob's house. A screenshot shows him laying on the couch without wearing his hat. Judging by just one...
Somebody was asking me about this, which I don't really know the answer on:
The clip has Cartoon Network ending and switching over to TNT.
So did TNT sometimes have special block previews for Cartoon Network, for those whose cable providers didn't carry Cartoon Network? I know Nick at...
Last night I dreamt that I saw Kermit, Fozzie, The Swedish Chef, and maybe a few other Muppets and Sesame Street Muppets in a phone commercial with other puppets and television personalities, all of them using landline phones with phone cards.
In addition to the Muppets, from what I can...
I remember that guide from when it began and yet I am surprised that it's his first appearance as a regular. Somehow I thought he'd have been seen a bit more before that. And it's season 20 after 1988 had ended (perhaps he was busy doing his scenes from UHF). But I figured it out when I looked...
This is a segment I was barely aware of, can't remember if I've seen it before or not, and am surprised that they changed it - and more surprised that, it appears, they changed it for that one video release. I had it in my mind (as little as I thought of it) that this one is from the 1990s, and...
I was surprised to see that Muppet Treasures has been online, in it's entirety, in English, for the last two years. How have I missed it?
And with that, Fozzie's Muppet Scrapbook is the only one of the Playhouse Videos that I have not seen/seen the linking footage for.
We see Herry and Freddy in the house band. When I first saw that Herry would be part of the house band, I wondered if it'd be the same as the house band for the 50th anniversary special (as if that was meant as a teaser for what was to come). Though I can't tell who is playing the drums.
The wiki finally has good quality images of an episode that had been on YouTube, but the only copies were recordings that were clearly a camera pointed at a television set (which I assume is why the pictures weren't on the wiki). So hooray for finally having the images (and in great quality)...
