Thanks!
If you were a Fraggle, you'd associate "sexy" with Fraggles. No Silly Creature could appreciate a finely-tapered tail, a warm fluffy pelt, or a classically pear-shaped body.
Here's the puppet I've building in the Puppet-in-Progress: From the foam up thread...
Sexy Gobo Fraggle: I haven't made his costume yet--not sure what I'm gonna do about that striped shirt--but since Fraggles are a clothing-optional species, here he is!
His arm rods are removable, and I'll...
I blitzed a bit tonight, so here are the last few in-progress photos:
The body. I didn't actually build this for Gobo; it was originally for a different puppet, but I decided that it was the too big and put it on the shelf. It looked good for Gobo, if still a bit tall, so I trimmed an...
I think a bright orange and then an orange-yellow is the way to go. I'd say either orange you posted would do for the main color, so go with whatever works for you. Me, I plan to use some orange feathers I bought a while back, and for the accent use some of the orange-yellow feathers I have...
bigwilly200: interesting. I'd think that the rod would slip out of a plastic sleeve too easily. If the rod is flexible enough to bend to hook it in, I'd worry that the rod would be bendy, period.
TheWemblin'Fool: No problem. They have other colors too, and in fact Gobo's magenta hair and...
So far they've gotten licenses only for Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, and Pretty Little Liars. It's not like they're accepting any and all fanfic. And you can bet your bippy (tee-hee!) that Disney ain't gonna pony up to this bar
Meh. I play games on my PS2. There are PS1 games I still enjoy. I have an Xbox--the first one--and maybe it has seen 10 hours of play in the years I've had it. Nothing made me feel I really needed to get any of the current generation of consoles, and with all the nonsense about being forced...
Ha! That's a very cute monster. Well done! I'd be interested in seeing how you built it. I see that the fur on the hands is shorter than the arm fur. Did you trim it, and if so how?
One of the puppet websites has a tutorial for making removable arm rods using doll joints mounted in the hands...
I buy feathers from a seller on Amazon called Crazy Cart. They often have packs of 100 13.5" white feathers for sixty-something dollars, which is pretty good bang for the buck. They sell them in different size categories, and while the small ones may look wonderfully cheap (10 for a dollar, or...
Sure. Here it is:
On the left, the pattern piece on top of a finished hand & arm. Keep in mind there's a seam allowance of about 1/8", so it's snugger than it looks. On the right is an arm rod head on top of the pattern piece. Yep, that's just a safety pin attached to the end of a rod...
That was my first thought. After all, the two Henson exhibits, which have been up for years, are being taken down this summer. I'd hate it if the plans for the Henson expansion, which has been on hold for years, were completely dropped.
The Inspots are the little creatures you often see singing backup in later seasons. There are at least five, although usually only two or three appear at a time.
Next! For this puppet I had to try something new: dyeing fur. Well, actually, I've done that before. For Boober, Sidebottom, and Sage I dyed gray fur blue to get a blue-gray. I only nudged the color over a little, which is all you can do with my usual dye. Rit dye works great on feathers...
