Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Also, Muppet Babies was cute in almost a "so-cute-its-not-even-cute-anymore-its-hilarious", but also, I was watching MFC the other day and the writing for that is really grown-up and serious and the concern for Miss Piggy's safety is genuine, Gonzo's fight with the turkey over his girlfriend is...
Well...considering that they merely promised "more Muppets" based on their original airing of a previous Christmas movie produced for another channel, I think they'd probably be making good on their promise even if they just aired LTS again to be honest...we'll see.
Are you kidding right now? Its actually in quite good condition, and besides, don't tv-channels often air old movies and the like (Its a Wonderful Life, for example!) For me, you simply cannot beat the pure JOY of the opening number from that movie.
But I think airing it would be too confusing...
This thread is the reason I've been wondering around town all morning humming, "Who will buy my sweet red roses, two blooms for a penny." "RIIIIPE STRAWBERRIES, RIIIIPE!"
She really is. I didn't think she had ever even checked it in the last two years, which is why I nearly fell off my seat when I saw she'd posted something there.
I've not even seen her on MSN for about three weeks...But she did (shockingly) post something on Facebook, so maybe she's just having a "real life" summer?
Exactly! And the PEOPLE. Where are the dirty clothes, the haggard skin, the sunken eyes? Everyone looks practically airbrushed. Where is the dirty poverty that sets Gotham apart and makes it often forgotten by the rest of America?
Just saw Batman (Finally!) and here are my thoughts (may contain spoilers) written as a series of glaring omissions:
#1 Batman
#2 Any kind of darkness
#3 Any feeling that Gotham is anything other than New York/Chicargo
#4 Any normal people to care for (were we supposed to care for Miranda?)...
I love how the Muppets have enough movies in enough different styles and genres to divide even the biggest Muppet fans. I love VMC, but hate KSY, others love MCC and hate MTI...Its the way it will always be!
Can't wait to see what comes next.
No no, that's not at all what I meant...MTM and TMM both have that realistic-gritty edge, GMC does to some extent. Its like they're afraid to let the Puppets get dusty these days, they are always pristine...fur neatly brushed. It was never that way.
Could this be the spot we're looking for, or is it just something random that they mentioned and felt the need to highlight because "Muppets" make good headlines these days?
Hmmm...mmmhmmm....
