I've had a few bouts of like-spamming lately. I'll look in, see I have oodles of messages, and then see that someone has apparently gone back and "liked" everything I've posted in the last year. Huh??
/me puts a pillow on The Count's desk to soften the thunk.
Wow. That story was a pleasure to read. I enjoy fics that delve into what makes the characters tick. I can tell that you've gotten into Gobo's mind with this one. He's brave and blustery and cocky, but not (usually) stupid about it. He can admit when he's afraid, even when everyone else...
Great work, Terry! He looks so much better than the MR Gonzo I have standing on my desk. In fact, I think he looks better than the ones we've seen on the screen recently. I especially appreciate the two-eye mechanism, which lets him look surprised or excited. Nowadays it seems like they only...
Indeed I went to this, and I had an absolute blast.
Going in, I didn't quite know what I was in for. I thought they'd just play the movie and we'd sing along with the songs. But...audience participation packs and directions on when to use which props? People onstage in front of the movie...
According to the article, they might be making a Gremlins movie in the future. And I'll admit that idea puts a smile on my face. I loved the first movie, and I had a blast drawing the title characters. The second, while a tad goofy for my taste in places, was still fun. I wouldn't mind...
So tempted to point out the Muppet Show comics in which Sweetums is miscolored as Animal, but I'm not sure that would be within the scope of this thread. Though comics are merchandise, right?
Eh, the jalopeno Big Bird ain't so bad. I wouldn't call him ugly, just unimaginative. That purple aardvark thing, however, ugh.
I sure am glad that Henson made the puppets used in the international coproductions of Fraggle Rock. My brain hurts to think of what Traveling Matt might have...
Yeesh. What do I have to do to get the characters I'm shooting for? So far I have six Bloosmans. They're not like chickens or snowths, where the more you add the better.
I swear I've seen Bloosman in the lodge of the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes.
I've generated a gaggle of Bloosmanses and some of those miscellaneous musicians. Blarg. No Snowths, let alone Janice or any of the other hard-to-gets.
A while back someone here wsa making noises about making custom puppet parts - "bear comedian eyes," "gofer glasses," and the like. Perhaps bits like those would be a good start.
Heh. All I have are Kathy Mullen, Peter Linz, Michael Frith, and Karen Prell. Got their autographs during Dragon*Con 2012 and 2013. I hope to get more, and if they continue the puppetry track, I probably will.
I can't think why they'd want to use that painted cover. It's not bad art (though not at all to my taste) but, shoot, it's a comic book filled with Langridge's art and writing! Why on earth would they not put Langridge's art on the cover?
