That leaves me with a number of guesses:
Some movies are produced in an aspect ratio wider than 16:9, so they may have to crop those, even for HD broadcasts.
Some HD broadcasts might, for some strange reason, use a 4:3 cropped version of a movie, though I'm not sure anyone actually does that...
I hate to derail this thread any further, but all this talk about the Henson floating face skits and how scary they are got me to thinking about something he did that I personally thought was much scarier: The Cube.
It's an interesting little TV special, even for its time, what with its early...
Personally, I liked Penelope. Perhaps not one of Sesame Street's more likable one-offs, but adorably immature and nutty. Then again, that episode was the only recent episode of Sesame Street I ever got a chance to see, since it was playing at the hospital once and nobody ever bothers to put new...
Well, that's not the first time that sort of "brick joke titling" as it were, had been used. I must admit, it's a bit of an off-the-wall punchline, therefore weaker than most, but nonetheless not a new concept. The oldest example I know off the top of my head is "Don't Pick The Daisies" from...
This has got to be the closest thing to the Hey Cinderella/first season Sesame Street Kermit I've seen. I don't see many people take on specific older versions of these characters (and so nicely either!) and although I am no expert on puppet building, I think it's just amazing! :)
I've always liked Pizza Hut, even before the Muppets started doing ads for them, but I do think they make me like Pizza Hut even more. Thinking back to that one ad with Miss Piggy singing about the pizza with the cheese bite crust (as a parody of "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'") already has...
Sure took long enough to get a 3rd episode from the new series, and it's a rather dull one. Just a very basic review of capital M and lowercase m and its sound, plus some of that obsolete "talk to the screen" formula.
Muppet Wiki documents it as the Plymouth Muppet Traffic Safety Show. Those clips might just be from an old b-roll that was used for news coverage back when it was around, or there's some miraculous possibility that one still exists around that area. I'm going for the former, because if there was...
If you're still looking for The Frog Prince, I have a good quality, cleaned up transfer of the LP from sesamestreem.

I've got another long-shot, specific request, my apologies to anyone who finds it difficult to fulfil.
I'm looking for the single version of Little Jerry and the Monotones' "Sad". As far as I remember, that version doesn't have sound effects like the televised version does. At one point it was...
The Alvin Show. 3 episodes only, but it's a treat just to own some of this rare cartoon eye candy in high quality. I wouldn't mind double dipping when more DVDs come out, if ever.
@antsamthompson9 Judging from the voice, unless the actual Nintendo people are doing the voices and not the puppeteers, I think that's Kevin Carlson doing Reggie, not Kevin Clash... he was also the puppeteer for Timmy the Tooth, Warehouse Mouse from Imagination Movers and Mr. Potato Head on the...
@HuggaMahna
"Burton Earny" was the name of the guy who composed the classic internet song meme "The Llama Song"
I've also seen closed captioning on at least one Sesame Street DVD ("Dance Along") that spells it "Burt". Yikes.
Three of the most famous faces of Nintendo in Japan and the US are portrayed by puppet caricatures (which I believe are built by JHC, the supporting characters seem to be former Henson puppets, correct me if I'm wrong) who then morph into the cast of StarFox (also puppets) to announce a new...
So many I like! A few I particularly enjoy...
"My Polliwog Ways" suave maroon suit
A plain and simple red sweater. The simpler ones I really enjoy!
Love the stache.
Boffo, socko, far-out! Again, great frog hair.
