Duh! The line "Hey, I'm workin' here" has to be a reference to Dustin Hoffman's famous "Hey, I'm walking here!" And y'know what his character's name was? Rizzo Ratso!
Heh, well, an "it gets better" video has to be at least a little didactic if it's to be effective. I hope I kept it "in voice." Part of it came straight out of my life.
It'll go live later that day. Where will the fallout begin? Place yer bets!
He shows up at about :50. You hear him crying, and a hot dog seller grumbles "Kids." Then Kermit shows him a chain of Animal paper dolls cut from a newspaper, delighting him.
You know what blows my mind? the music. It can't be a coincidence that it's the same tune used in Midnight Cowboy...
Holy crud, that was weird. And strange. And odd. And...whoa.
Whoa.
...
Baby Animal? This may be the first allusion Disney has made to Muppet Babies (with the exception of Walter's lunch box). Baby animal. Yeah.
"YOU FINALLY DID IT! YOU DARN DIRTY ANIMALS!!"
Cool, somebody read this. I hope it didn't come across as preachy. I actually had all of this planned well before certain recent legislation hit the news, so he's not commenting specifically on Arizona and Ohio and, sadly, my home state of Georgia.
Man, I wish I was writing this faster. I've only got so many hours in the day, and lately puppet-making commissions have been squeezing out most of my other creative endeavors. Still, I don't leave stories unfinished!

Once in a Lifetime
Part 13: The Stranger

*****...
Aw, crud. My home state of Georgia has legislation of this kind in progress. I'm not surprised; we elect some prizewinning, bahble-thumpin' fools down here. But if this doesn't get thrown out so fast it bounces twice I will be thoroughly disgusted.
Today I got a cupcake from the cupcake ATM.
I'm serious. There is an ATM in Lenox Square, but instead of cash, it dispenses cupcakes. Tasty ones, too. People go there, buy cupcakes, and take selfies. Like I just did.
Ohio and Kansas backed down, but Arizona hasn't. It passed its own "right to discriminate" legislation, which is now awaiting the signature of Governor Jan Brewer (R).
One trick I like to use when arguing about the morality of specific actions is to flip it. So, you can discriminate against me...
Nope, it's current news. It may yet be passed.
....
Hmm, looks like it's less likely. People have protested it, and the politicos might be swayed by the people the are supposed to govern.
That's a common Disney thing. Where was Arielle's mother? Or Belle's? Or Snow White's? Or Mulan's? Or Dumbo's father? I think you could count the number of two-parent main characters on the fingers of one hand.
One correction: this is not law yet. It has passed the Kansas House of Representatives, but it has not yet been signed into law. One can hope that they will come to their senses...but I'm not holding my breath.
What the **** Just Happened in Kansas?
(Edit: the board software asterisked out part of the link. Just type the obvious word back in on the URL bar and you'll be there.)
They just explicitely and specifically legalized discrimination against gay people, that's what. Because not...
I got most of the patterns, but parts 16, 19, and 22 are unavailable.
Thank you for uploading this! I've developed my own patterns for replicas, but it's interesting to see how close they are to these and where they differ.
