Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
Um--this is rather epic. I started writing and I couldn't quite stop--that seems to happen to me rather a lot. Before I chicken out, here are my comments/observations after seeing the movie a third time. This is a long, somewhat rambling and clearly obsessive post about the muppets and their...
Keeping in mind that I'm a longterm fan, let me say "They already knew DID get married. It was lovely. All their friends came."
As to Kermit needing Mickey's permission to ask Miss Piggy to marry him--I'd like to see that! Kermit needs no-one's permission to do what he already did with the full...
I have commented about this many, many times, but Kermit and Piggy get asked things in interviews that interviewers wouldn't dream of asking other couples (see interview above). The amount of interest in their couplehood is overwhelming and invasive and hilarious. (But only because they are so...
I think it must be more than obvious from my posts that the problem I had was not that I did not understand the movie. Several people here have made similar comments. It is inappropriate to assume that because we did not like it that we did not understand it. This has been a lovely conversation...
I love all the ideas for new muppet projects (well, except maybe Constantine, who can just stay in the gulag and perform in the revue there), but I'm going to be the unwelcome voice of reason.
As much as I'd love to see, for example, a full-length Electric Mayhem movie, I don't think there's a...
There's a lot here to love! This is obviously the cover for the much-anticipated "Miss Piggy Cover Girl Fantasy Calendar 2014." Piggy is wearing a short, strapless white-on-white dress with white very-high heels with ankle straps. She has on lavender gloves and a light lavender boa around her...
Chapter 157: Insight Straits
Scooter was pretty much indispensable, and he had been accused of being clairvoyant, but he did not have to be a soothsayer to see that Kermit had had a rough evening. Kermit looked up when he came in with a sack of bagels and smiled wanly. Scooter handed him the...
Beaker, sweetie--this is so far off the mark that I don't know what to say, but let me try a few things.
First of all--it's fine if you don't care about Kermit and Piggy and the state of their matrimony. Nobody's going to make you care or participate. But to say that it is of no importance...
It's not your fault, JimAndFrank--central to ANY discussion about the muppets is a conversation about the state of the frog/pig relationship. Neither of them can go on a talk show or and interview without being asked about it--it is one of the things that always come up.
I am always reminded...
AVMMC was actually one of my favorites. Although it was a television movie, it was done with great affection and intent by the studio, which intended to relaunch the franchise in style. You are right, Dwayne1115, that TM as sort of the flip side of AVMMC. In the first, Kermit realizes how much...
It has warmed the cockles of my heart (and here I thought it was just heartburn) to learn that ALL of the human costars--Tina, Ricky and Ty were huge muppet fans. That made seeing them perform with my favorite felts a lot more enjoyable.
Um...Sherlock comes to mind. And the fellows that write that are HUGE, OBSESSIVE fans of the original Conan Doyle. And, while I am NOT a fan of the Star Trek reboot, at least it said RIGHT UP FRONT that it was NOT a remake of the original (unless of course you take the second movie, which...
A few comments... (I know you're all shocked.)
I don't think the goal for getting the characters right should be to do better than the worst muppet film ever, regardless of what film you thought that was. So if a character's, um, character was off, then it was off. I hope I say this...
Still thinking over here...here's my thoughts.
It wasn't the plot, actually, that bothered me. It was the way our well-known characters were manipulated to further that plot--even when it seemed out of character--that left me feeling dismayed and disgruntled around the edges. For instance...
I don't remember this....
WHERE is this from?
BTW--did anyone else find it funny when Piggy said in an interview that Constantine's mole was "hot." Kermit was rather put out....
Muppets most wanted fiction check. Working on it.
(Muppets Most Wanted happens outside of kermie's girls timeline because Kermit and Piggy aren't married.)
Now, to drag this conversation back on topic. Muppets Most Wanted was an enjoyable film. I loved seeing the Electric Mayhem back together...
Trying not to spoil here, but we KNOW it didn't happen after. It COULDN'T have-remember? (Think about the ending of the movie.) MY point was that it couldn't happen DURING because we KNOW ALL the members of OK at the end of the movie. Follow me now? It's sort of like when Disney wanted to make...
I
Here's the only problem I saw with the MU short-the ending of the actual Monsters Universityeams that-despite the awesome pledge party, none of those monsters ever pledged. We already KNOW who pledged because we know who was with them when...um...when the movie ended. (Don't want to spoil...
I said this before, but what I really wanted was for Kermit to storm the wedding, demand Piggy dump Constantine THIS INSTANT (NOW, Piggy-right this MINUTE) and marry him on the spot. In my never to be humble opinion, that's the only way Kermit comes off looking romantic AND heroic and...
