There was something about that O cartoon that really summed up the surreal quality of the Sesame Street's early years, which I think was great. The art and animation seemed to be very similar to the E cartoon about the Queen, the Eagle and the Easter Egg, although the E cartoon was a monologue...
Yes, there was one where Maria kept trying to get her work done, but was constantly interrupted. Finally, she closed up the shop, locked the doors, took the phone off the hook, and thought she had all bases covered until Oscar comes up through the tunnel. At that point, all she could do was cry.
I do remember an old skit from the 70's where Oscar was in a giant garbage can in the middle of the street's playground, but I can't remember any details as to why.

Well, since they weren't necessarily shown in the order that they were produced (and seen on the DVD), it may have been the last episode shown of the first season, but I certainly don't remember.
This special ending also invalidated one of the Muppet Morsels on the DVD, stating that every...
I haven't seen the Dudley Moore episode, so I really can't comment in the comparison thread, but I thought the Kaye Ballard one was really entertaining and I love the special ending with no band (Apparently, they must have worked it out because they were in every future episode playing the same...
