Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
The funniest dialogue was at the end when Ernie asked Bert what his favorite part was and Bert replies that it was the fly scene. Bert then asks Ernie what his favorite part was and Ernie replies, "My favorite part was when I spilled popcorn all over you." Bert walks away saying, "You...
Oh, Ernie and Bert had numerous make-overs throughout the years. Some were more subtle than others. Bert's nose always seemed to get smaller. Ernie started out with a different shirt and his nose was purplish. Their hair used to be a lot more messed up. Bert looked much grumpier in the...
There were actually two versions of that skit. The original one was a very early classic skit from the first or second season. Unfortunately, it was redone during the 80's with the more modern looking versions of Ernie and Bert of that time.
I remember everything about the skit that you described except for Bert vowing never to let the Count sleep over again. Whenever I saw the skit, it ends right after the Count asks Bert if he can sleep over again and Ernie crashes to the floor, with no answer from Bert one way or another. If...
Well yes, that was exactly what Bert was trying to do. If you listen closely, after Bert says that line to the lamp, he then says, "You..." pointing to the lamp, expecting it to say its rhyming line.
It does seem pretty silly of Bert to expect a lamp to answer, but on the other hand, it's not...
Another curious thing about The Together Book is that, although many Sesame Street Muppets are shown, none of them are named. The humans are also conspicuously absent from the street scenes as well. Great book though!
Hello Kevin,
I make it a point to try to know and follow the rules of MC. I love the theme and I have great respect for you and Phillip.
I do think there is something that needs to be said however. It can sometimes be discouraging to report an inappropriate post when the poster is a...
Well, before we start celebrating, (or protesting depending on which side you're on) I would like to see just some kind of link or reference to confirm the Fix-It Shop's return. I know more than one person has confirmed it, so that's a good sign. But, I was not able to find any news about this...
Hopefully this is true. It was part of who Luis and Maria were, just like Bob and music. And contrary to popular belief, people still do get things fixed. There are several repair shops in my local area. I would like to know more about where you heard this, BooberFraggles because if it's...
Because there were always things that were considered appropriate for adults, but not children. Even coffee drinking by children has been frowned upon.
Interesting. As a child, it never once crossed my mind that Snuffy might not be real nor that it was supposed to be ambiguous. For one thing, the human kids saw Snuffy as well as Big Bird. Also, the effects of Snuffy's appearances and actions were visible to the human adults. He would blow...
Remember the old commercials?
"If you believe in peanut butter, clap your hands! If you believe in peanut butter, ya gotta believe in Peter Pan!"
The later there was:
"Picky people pick Peter Pan peanut butter, it's the peanut butter picky people pick."
Even later:
"Eat some...
Recently, I saw a documentary about the making of the ORIGINAL King Kong movie. It was interesting to hear about how the "giant" King Kong actually consisted of three puppets ranging from 18 to 24 inches. They made him move by stop motion animation in the same way as in the Rankin and Bass...
