To be honest, Vogel's Kermit still doesn't really sit with me. There have been a few times (like his Sesame Street appearance) where I thought it worked but his vocal performance is very odd and inconsistent. I can understand why they decided to make Scooter the main character in this one and...
It was just fine, basically about as good as the last episode. The same problems I have had with the past two apply with this one in regards to the flimsy storyline. I imagine a plot where Statler and Waldorf are part of a test audience would have been hilarious in the 2015 ABC show but there's...
I was very critical of the pilot but this was actually a fairly solid episode. The skits this time around were all enjoyable with Muppet Labs and the Swedish Chef vs Danny Trejo ones being particularly entertaining. I'm also really liking the Beverly Turkey character and hope she appears in...
Wow, I haven't thought of Between the Lions in a long time. I remember my teacher in elementary school would actually play episodes in class for us. Really loved the characters and the dynamics between the lion family. Not to mention the infectious sketches peppered in-between in the vein of...
Yeah, I gotta agree about The Muppet Show. Not to say that I don't enjoy the series but I could definitely have done with less musical numbers and more backstage sequences. And while I wouldn't say Muppets Tonight is a better show then TMS, I do feel it had a better plot-to-sketch ratio that...
To be honest, I'd rather have a laughably bad muppet project like Wizard of Oz then something dull and meh like Muppets Now. MWoO wasn't a great movie but it was still interesting enough that I revisited a few times. I have no interest in re-watching the pilot of Muppets Now.
To put it bluntly, it was a dull and laugh-less watch. It only made me miss the 2015 ABC series so much more. What we essentially got was a mismatch of Youtube-style muppet content packaged together with the loose narrative of the gang almost being late to submit the episode. The Miss Piggy...
Not sure if I agree about Cleese's scene being unnecessary but maybe it's an acquired taste. I do agree about Piggy's Fantasy though, that dragged on for way too long and I usually skip it when I watch GMC.
This was a nice watch, kinda gave me a Muppets Tonight-esque vibe. In fact, the whole thing felt like it was meant to be a muppet show. What I enjoyed the most was the behind-the-scenes stuff with Bert & Ernie. I'd honestly prefer if they focused more on that in future episodes. Also enjoyed...
Man, I loved Between the Lions as a kid. I remember my teacher actually played a VHS of it in class in elementary school. It kinda felt like a slighty more mature Sesame Street.
I remember watching the 8th season which is now a decade-old. I thought that was the final season but then they came back three years later in 2013 for a 9th and they've been churning out more seasons ever since then.
I remember hoping this would come out back in 2013 but now it's 2020 & pretty obvious there's no real chance. Wish they could at least put muppet show and muppets tonight on streaming.
I dreaded Caroll Spinney's death for a while but unfortunately it was inevitable. Having both Juice WRLD and Caroll Spinney die on the same day was a massive mood killer on that Sunday. RIP to both.
Wow, so this is really it for Arthur? Kinda shocking tbh, seems like one of those shows that should go on forever.
Used to despise the new flash-animation episodes but I honestly don't even think they're that bad now after taking a peek every now and then when my little brother would watch...
If they can release the first 3 seasons of The Muppet Show on DVD, I don't see why they couldn't put them on Disney+. Wouldn't they already have had the rights to those seasons?
They could have at least added Muppets Tonight. It would probably by far easier to clear the rights to that.
Have not posted on this forum in well over a year. Used to come here on a daily basis around 2014-2015ish. Not really sure why I stopped posting, i guess there just wasn't much to talk about. Regardless, this forum is usually a pleasant place for muppet discussion and I'm glad it's still pretty...
