LOL I came here to post this too. Seth is a huge muppets fan so I wasn't too surprised to hear Peter's reference. The fact they broke out and did the whole theme song was a shock though. Wasn't a fan of the rest of the episode too much but that part was so well-done. Interesting to note that...
My favorite one is from Season 2, Episode 1 - Don Knotts.
Statler: This show is awful
Waldorf: Terrible
Statler: Disgusting
Waldorf: See you next week?
Statler: Of course.
My second favorite is from Season 3, Episode 10 where Kermit tells Statler & Waldorf that if they let him hide there...
I just watched one of the new episodes called "Freaky Tuesday" where Buster and Mr. Ratburn switch bodies. And wow, this is the most I've enjoyed an episode of Arthur in years. The plot actually had me interested and it really wasn't bad at all. I guess they can still make a good episode every...
The only silver lining about Arthur's decline is that the weaker seasons are much shorter than the classic ones. Seasons 20-24 combined has less episodes than the first season.
Yeah, Arthur was a big part of my childhood. I would say the first 9 seasons hold up very well. Seasons 10-15 is where you start to see signs of decline and than Season 16 is when it completely went off the rails. I'm still interested enough to check out the new season, and it's just 3 episodes...
Loved this interview. I really enjoyed the part where he talked about how Richard Hunt and him used to debate about Beaker. For those who didn't watch, Richard would say that Beaker is there because he feels sorry for the poor, misguided Bunsen while Goelz says he's just there for the paycheck...
It's been years since I sat down and watched The Muppet Show but I recently dusted off my TMS DVDs and gave the second season a watch. It was just about as good as I remembered it from 7-8 years ago, if not even better. So with the show's recent arrival on Disney+, I'd like to do a proper...
Disney Drive-On is a web series I haven't thought about in years. Big Mean Carl and the monkey writers were definitely a highlight in that one, plus the theme song was super catchy. It's funny how the office-style setup of Drive-on resembled the 2015 series but Walter was nowhere to be found in...
Oh wow, wasn't aware they didn't have Muppets Wizard of Oz on there. Wonder if it has anything to do with the terrible reception it received. Muppets at Walt Disney would be a good one. wonder why they're hesitating. They really have a ton of specials they could release and it wouldn't cost them...
Do you have a link for that? Wow, Clifford coming back would really be something. He hasn't been in a muppet project in over 15 years. Would love if Sal could return as well.
Yeah, the Great MacGrady and the other Lance Armstrong episode (Room to Ride) have probably not aired in nearly a decade. There was really no reason to completely remake it but I guess they just want a more updated version of it back in circulation. Which means this new "season" of Arthur will...
Considering it was never even released on VHS or DVD in the United States, I highly doubt that DIsney even planned to have that special up on their streaming service. It would make for a nice addition but I think the reason it's not included has less to do with music rights and more to do with...
Interesting. I found that to be one of the better ones of Season 1.
I'd say the George Burns episode is very tedious but even that has a few good moments. Hard to classify the Liberace one since it starts out great and then becomes so tiring to watch. I'd put that in a "Worst" category solely...
It'd be funny if Don Jr. is actually a diehard Muppet fan and he's seriously mad about the disclaimers and/or removal of the 2 episodes, obviously it's just a rehearsed talking point though.
Rewatching The Muppet Show and it appears that there are 3 episodes where the show begins backstage
S1E20: Valerie Harper [Kermit confronts George the Janitor and Valerie auditions for Kermit]
S2E13: Rudolph Nureyev [Sam the Eagle inspects Kermit, Robin, and Scooter to ensure everyone is...
It really depends. For instance, I recently watched the Liberace episode from season 3 and the first 12 minutes was top-tier Muppet Show content. And then the episode literally stopped in its tracks and became a Liberace concert for the next 13 minutes. I wouldn't necessary want to dump the...
Bumping this thread to say that I actually really like the Gilda Radner episode now. Wouldn't put it anywhere near a "Worst" list, it is actually one of my favorites from season 3. My opinion on the George Burns episode remains the same though, very boring episode.
