    Bob, Gordon, and Luis: FIRED!

Hopefully they really are going to do the right thing, but it's wise to not take it solely on face value. They're already contradicting themselves left and right. First they say HBO had nothing to do with the decision and now they're saying it was ALL HBO's decision.

    Bob, Gordon, and Luis: FIRED!

Bob McGrath seemed to think it had something to do with age. I'm not sure if Loretta Long is even still on the show. Carol Spinney might get a pass because no one sees him. Just by some of the comments I've heard, it's pretty clear that the elderly are not held in very high regard. If it...

    Where are the older humans?

No problem with debating. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, just not their own facts. What you said about children having less interaction with their grandparents these days is simply not true. The number of grandparents raising children are growing. Let's continue to celebrate age...

    Where are the older humans?

Still, I hope we can all at least agree that Bob, Gordon, and Luis should stay on the show. I'm sure anyone who loved Sesame Street would not want these 3 people to be treated unfairly. It's amazing when you realize that the producers, who fired them, were probably educated and entertained by...

    Where are the older humans?

If we were talking about any discriminating against any other group besides the elderly, there wouldn't even be a debate.

On the contrary: Their ranks are increasing. The number of grandparents raising grandchildren is up 7 percent from 2009. Experts say the trend is likely to continue as the nation responds to the opiate epidemic. Military deployment and a growth in the number of women incarcerated are other...

In any case, Captain Kangaroo was a highly successful program for decades. If elderly people were really TV poison for children's shows, that could have never happened.

Perhaps, but what does that have to do with betraying three veteran actors who have devoted their lives to the show?

    Where are the older humans?

Sorry, I just don't buy that "old people are bad for kids" argument. Here is what Captain Kangaroo was about: "..the show revolved about the grandfatherly Captain Kangaroo, whose name was inspired by the kangaroo pouch-like pockets of the coat Keeshan wore. "I was impressed with the potential...

    Where are the older humans?

It's good to know the cast feels supported by their real fans and that Sesame Workshop is at least hearing it. Even if it came down to budget cuts, cast members who have been on the show that long should be the very LAST ones to be let go! Not the FIRST! The had loyalty to the show. I don't...

“As of this season, I have completed my 45th season this year. And the show has gone under a major turnaround, going from an hour to a half hour. HBO has gotten involved also. And they let all of the original cast members go, with the exception of Alan Muraoka — who is probably 20 years younger...

    Bob, Gordon, and Luis: FIRED!

I certainly hope there is truth to the story that Sesame Workshop has reversed their decision to get rid of Bob, Gordon, and Luis. It's sad that they would even contemplate such a thing, but even sadder when fans of the show turn against the veteran actors as well. Please, all of you who...

But the answer shouldn't be, "Well, we really don't want them here anymore, but we'll put up with them if we have to." They are cast members, who contribute to the show, have done so for years very well, and frankly were on the front lines helping to make the show the great success it was.
