The trouble with shows like South Park and Family Guy is that they never come up for air. It's just continuous dark humor. I mean, it's like this: "Ok, I get it! The world is a horrible place, nothing is sacred, everyone is despicable, we're all doomed! I get it, South Park and Family Guy...
I never said that a white person performing a black puppet was necessarily bad or vice-versa. I was saying why you can't compare the Muppets To Family Guy.
It’s just that the Muppets are not going to do everything Family Guy does. The latter is adult humor with very different standards. If they do decide to have a Caucasian perform an African American Muppet, it definitely won’t be because they used Family Guy as a role model.
Termination in person is probably more desirable than termination over the phone (although at the end of the day, it has the exact same result). As for it being out of everyone's earshot, it was, until Steve changed it.
It's good to recognize Steve's redeeming qualities; I just don't see making him out to be some kind of god. Very few people are worthy of such a title.
Well, that would make a case for Kermit staying silent. Do I think that would have been a good idea? No, but if there was a case for Rowlf The Dog, Wembley, and all the characters of Richard, and Jerry, and now Steve remaining silent, where do you draw the line?
