I detested Piggy for years, finding her eminently irritating and one-dimensional...and then I read Ru's epic "Kermie's Girl," which is wonderful and a thoughtful character treatment; and then "The Muppets" film made me think perhaps Piggy had more depth than previously shown.
Ahh. Well...you could always try telling her that...nicely. No reason she can't keep her mom-friends even if you have zero in common with the kids, right?
After a long and sometimes irritating work week, came home tonight and scrubbed up with my Foxcroft body butter...and now I smell like a forest floor in early October and it is the best thing ever. (Dying leaves is my favorite scent. Not even kidding.)

As a kid, I was overly serious, bookish, had awful Coke-bottle-lens glasses, and knew nobody really wanted to be my friend, though why was a complete mystery to me; as a teen, I developed the ability to act more supercilious and bluff my way through any mockery thrown at me...
A ton of boring stuff, like laundry and bathroom-cleaning and changing sheets and grocery shopping...but also watched the first 3 eps of "Braindead," which is brilliant, and will soon have a mudslide and another episode.
The whole weekend has been fairly good. Slept in, had Chinese takeout and homemade flapjacks (no, not pancakes, there IS a difference), weeded in our garden plot until I could feel every muscle in my body distinctly... okay, so soreness isn't wonderful, but seeing the progress in our garden is...
Started watching "Braindead" on Amazon prime today...hooked. Brain-eating bugs from space are taking over American politicians and that's the reason for our current chaos in DC. Brilliant, funny, well-acted, and so far well-plotted, with good acting and believable characters. Strongly...
