This one I recall from my childhood days.I remember it being a Kermit The Frog NewsFlash, with Kermit on the lookout for a merry man. However, someone told me that it was Ernie looking for a merry man,not Kermit.I guess that means it wasn't a NewsFlash.Anyway,if anyone remembers, the first muppet we...
I purchased my own VHS copy of Elmo Saves Christmas for only $7.99 today, and viewed it for the first time tonight. This being my first time ever seeing this special,I quite enjoyed it.The only thing I found disappointing the lack of scenes from Ernie and Bert.Almost the only time we ever saw...

Is there supposed to be a new TV Christmas movie starring the Classic Muppets?I read something about this in TV Guide earlier in the year. But I haven't heard anything about it yet.:) :o
Some of the muppet characters have personalities that are not too unlike their animal sources.
Kermit is a gentle, sensitive and caring muppet.Real frogs are pleasantly harmless animals who sing beautifully at night.:)
Miss Piggy's rough and tough obnoxious personality is not too much...
I've recently read about this show in"Jim Henson The Works".As many of you may know, this series went from 1955 until 1961,and was produced in Washington DC.Among the muppets in the show was Kermit, before he became a frog.
This show came out long before I was born.I've never seen it.Do you...
Which one did you like best?
Big Bird in China or Big Bird In Japan?
One thing I like better about China, was how Ernie,Bert and a bunch of other famous SS muppet characters actually appeared in one scene.Big Bird and Farley were the only two SS characters ever seen in Japan.
:p :(
There is a story in next week's TV Guide about Kermit's 50th birthday. :) Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a TV special about it?I didn't see any sign of one in the TV Guide itself.
I just recently ordered a VHS copy of this video from Amazon.Com.But when I recieved it in the mail,I played it in my VCR and near the beginning, the tape broke. So I tested other videos to see if the problem was my VCR or the tape itself. It was obviously the latter.I was ripped off.You can...
I've always found it interesting how in The Muppet Movie and the Great Muppet Caper,Miss Piggy comes out a hero with her famous karate chops.Whereas on The Muppet Show she so often came across as a bully with her chops.
 HIIIYYAH
I posted a topic like this one not too long ago on Kermit's favourite female guest stars. How about Miss Piggy's favourite male guests ?
Charles Aznavour
Harvey Korman
Christopher Reeve
George Burns
Johnny Cash
Jean Pierre Rampal
Elton John("Eat your heart out Kiki Dee.")
Danny Kaye
Kris...
This topic refers to occasional outbursts that had occurred between muppets, sometimes even guest stars, during TMS goodnights. Here are some that I'll never forget:
Kaye Ballard:She tells Kermit that she thinks Miss Piggy is honkey.Piggy immediately storms onto the stage and karate chops Kaye.The...
I remember as a child being given a hand puppet that somebody had made from scratch. It was supposed to be Kermit The Frog, but it looked nothing like Kermit. This puppet was a dark blueish green with a great big head made of foam,a big white head of hair on top,Kermit-like eyes made of styrofoam...
In her time,Miss Piggy has karate chopped many other muppets, and many human beings. But you never saw her karate chop Sweetums or any other muppets his size.It seems that maybe these muppets are too big for her to hit.The only muppet Sweetums' size Miss Piggy had attempted to hit was Big...
Over the course of TMS,there were quite a few female guest stars whom Kermit seemed to bond and appear quite affectionate with. Here are some of the guest stars I recall being in that situation:
Sandy Duncan
Florence Henderson
Connie Stevens
Juliet Prowse
Julie Andrews
Lynn Redgrave
Helen...
I recall reading somewhere a year or so ago, about this TV special being released on DVD.Does anyone know if this is still a possiblilty?
I myself can't help seeing Jean Stapleton as Edith Bunker of All In The Family. That' why TMS episode where she guest starred, was like seeing Edith crossover to TMS from All In the Family.Though before seeing this epsiode,I recall seeing Jean out of character on a talk show once.I couldn't get...
I've noticed how over the years,Jim Henson and Frank Oz performed together a lot. They seemed to be a great puppeteer team, and have puppeteered a lot of muppets together.
Ernie & Bert
Kermit & Fozzie
Kermit & Miss Piggy
Kermit & Grover
Ernie & Cookie Monster
Kermit & Harvey Kneeslapper...
I used to tune into Sesame Street on a regular basis from 1974 until 1976,and I don't recall ever seeing Telli Monster. Was he a later addition?Another character I don't recall seeing during the 74-76 period was Olivia.
I realise that there have been topics on this before. But one thing I find interesting, unlike on"The Muppet Show"where Miss Piggy so often used her karate for bullying,in both"The Muppet Movie"and"The Great Muppet Caper"she used it to successfully outdo the villians. In other words,in both movies...
