Big Bird an "acid casualty?" Gordon a potential sex offender? 1969 Sesame Street bad because iPods hadn't been invented and the 123 building needed renovation? :boo: That guy has one heckuva sick sense of humor; no TV show is perfect, but to blame his own jaded and cynical outlook on a show...
Fear isn't the only negative reaction that some of the old clips can inspire: I was never frightened by the "lost kid/yo-yo master" or the "King Minus" clips when I was a girl, but I certainly felt sorry for the main characters. (No wonder poor ol' Minus subtracted himself out of existence at...
Count me in for that link, please...
Never having seen the "Learning About Letters" DVD, I'm basing my opinion on your description: It does seem odd that an alphabet-teaching collection would exclude some letters, show multiple skits for another letter, and put one letter clip out of order at...
That's exactly the sketch my friend is looking for, so I wrote to Sesame Workshop hoping that they could set me straight about that claim. If it's true, then there just might be a way to get hold of the Song of One sketch legitimately without waiting for a commercial re-release.
A month or two ago, I dimly recall reading that Sesame Workshop is willing to do customized DVDs with up to ten video clips (at $5 per clip). They don't advertise this offer on their website, but someone on the inside mentioned that it's been done. Could the qualified folks out there confirm...
Awww, thank you... :) I doubt you'll ever see any first-season episodes between #1 and #8, though, unless you know someone with access to the master tapes at the old CTW archives. Noggin released only a few hundred old episodes (total) as part of Sesame Street Unpaved, and typically edited...
David's death wasn't mentioned on Sesame Street because the character never died; Northern Calloway was written off the show several months before he actually died of cancer. No cover-up was involved, just a matter of timing...
Thankfully, I've been able to collect some movie files of some Sesame Street Unpaved episodes (many of them never made it to DVD). I currently have about 30 files in my collection, and am working out a trade for more--keep your fingers crossed!
Funny thing is, that clip (complete with the angry repetition of "14") wasn't originally made for Sesame Street; it was made for an unrelated kids' show in Sweden, the one that CTW eventually got the "Swedish number animations" from. The untranslated version sounds just as disconcerting to me...
I put up a couple of birthday-related clips on YouTube (more'll be coming) and watched Old School Volume 2 today. I'm also trying to work out some episode trades with a few online buddies, so the fan club site will have more to share... As long as there's TV in some form, I pray that Sesame...
Oh heck yeah; Sony Wonder at least let people skip the ads in Volume 1. I cursed when I couldn't get past them in Volume 2...having corporate sponsors on their TV program is bad enough, but spending five unavoidable minutes on DVD ads makes Sesame Workshop look as if all they care about is...
