Your Thoughts: Muppets on the Nick & Jessica Variety Hour

? Well, to be honest, I personally have been submerged in my own collection of Muppet videos and DVD's rather than chasing after the new stuff like "Very Muppet Christmas". (I was happy to see that "Muppet Family Christmas" finally make it to DVD, though.) I hadn't noticed this change...

    Best Muppet Show Hosts Ever

Thank you for taking the time to reply just to correct me. I'm sure that my efforts at starting a conversation were well worth your fixing one phrase that I used. (I'm sorry. I'm just grouchy today.)

    Still missing Jim...

Although not classic Muppets, Frank Oz still goes back to Sesame Street once or twice a year to record new sketches with Super Grover and stuff. My cousin was an intern at Sesame last semester and at Christmas she showed us the Frank Oz filming she was in that airs in April. Yeah, I was the...

What Muppets scared you as a child?

Thank you! I finally got the image shrunk down enough to work! (It took a lot of alterations!)

What Muppets scared you as a child?

Off the subject, but I need a Rowlf picture with my name, too. He's by far my favorite!

    Best Muppet Show Hosts Ever

Does this fit the "Classic Muppets" category? I think so....... Here's a fun survey question that I'm really curious about...... Who do you think were the top five guest hosts on The Muppet Show? Here are my choices....... (which may be revised later) Leo Sayer Harry Belafonte Kenny...

    The most tear-jerking Muppet moment...

It's from The Muppet Movie! I forgot about that part! It is really great. And then Animal grows really big and scares Hopper and Kermit doesn't get turned into fried frog legs and everyone (eventually, it isn't quite the end of the movie!) lives happily ever after! That was so...

    Kermit being missed?

I agree with your points. And I miss Jim too. It's hard to change something that works so well and still make it as high of quality. I've enjoyed post-Jim Muppet stuff (excluding a lot of Elmo-focussed Sesame Street), but is it up to the standards of The Muppet Show? I don't know. That's...

    COMIC STRIP COMPLAINT, Etc.

On the topic of For Better or For Worse, I have to say I like it too. Seroiusly, I cried when Mr. B died a month or two ago because I really love bunnies and grew up with lots of them as pets from age 6 to age19 (my last three died second semester of my first year in college). It brought back...

    Still missing Jim...

I agree. Jim Henson was so creative and inventive. Watching the Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock, and older Sesame Street episodes makes me feel happy inside. I'm so glad that I can say we were alive at the same time, even if I didn't get to meet him, and that he had the time to create so many...

What Muppets scared you as a child?

Randall Flagg: I remember that too, but alas I cannot tell you any more specifics than what you all ready mentioned. And, yes, that Kenny Rogers episode had several scarry moments including the Witch Doctor and the Gambler. But the moment that scared me the most was something that I saw...

    Kermit being missed?

It's hard to say. Would the concept of The Cosby Show have worked without Bill Cosby? I think that the way the Muppets fell together (Jim, Frank Oz, etc.) is the best way it could have worked. If you watch some of the earlier episodes of The Muppet Show, where Piggy, Fozzie, and Janice have...

    Kermit being missed?

I agree. When things are right..... It's really hard to accept change. "New" Kermit is a good second choice, but Jim Henson really put life into Kermit, and no one else will be able to do that as well. It's the same with all the other Muppets Jim did the voices for.

Where can I find pictures of these Muppets?

Try this website for the Muppet charecters you want. There's a lot of good (and randrom) pictures. http://www.kermitage.com/html/characterindex/tms/index.html I don't know what to tell you about the rest. Goodluck! :D

    The most tear-jerking Muppet moment...

By the way ReoRogerz, I had the same reaction when Jim Henson died. I had just gotten a diary for Chritmas that year, and my little brother was adopted. I was heartbroken and wrote this long entry about how sad it was and how bad things happen to good people. And it made me even more sad...

    The most tear-jerking Muppet moment...

I'm going to have to say when Gonzo sings "I'm going to go back there someday." It makes me cry everytime!

    Muppets on TV

Does anyone know if any TV stations in the US still show the Muppet Show? Maybe on cable? I really miss when "Oddyssy" (however it's spelled......) used to show it in the afternoons. Ah, the good old days.

    Who's Your Favorite Muppet?

No Contest! Deffinately Rowlf! :sympathy: He's my kind of guy. Next, Jen and Kira from the Dark Crystal. Thenk, Lips, the trumpet player. I'm pretty sure that's his name. After that....... All of them on the Muppet Show and Fraggle Rock. Most from Sesame Street, but not some of...

Your favorite stop motion animation films

I deffinately agree. Traditional animation and puppetry, in my opinion at least, takes so much more skill than cgi and it's sad to see it abandoned. Don't get me wrong, computer animation and stuff is cool, but really..... Give me Muppets anyday. Oh, and Wallace and Gromit are my favorite...
