Though far from the most tear-jerking moment I felt kind of sad in the UK spot (forget which episode) where Sam the Eagle says his wife has left him though I still laughed when he said his daughter is dating an owl.:attitude:
One of my favourite films that nobody I know has heard of is the 1963 Tony Hancock vehicle The Punch and Judy Man, it's sad, moving and funny at the same time.
I think it can be part that they are not completely happy with how the original worked it either because of executive meddling, low funds or inexperience. Even Alfred Hitchcock did it, remaking his 1934 film The Man Who Knew Too Much in 1956 with James Stewert and Doris Day (the film which...
:boo: You know what you're doing wrong?
Berle: What I'm doing wrong?
:boo: Standing too close to the audience.
Berle: Oh, yeah? How is this?
:boo: You're still too close.
Berle: Oh, sorry. Is this okay?
:boo: Now little more.
Berle: How far back do you want me to go?
:boo: You got a car?
Not watching the special but seeing the results of the best Mom seemed very antiquated to me as all the mothers there were pretty outdated stereotypes with not very good writing giving them much dimension. The two modern choices were pretty much just using the same stereotypes while changing the...
I love the scene when Milton Berle comes out to help Fozzie with Statler and Waldorf hecling him and then gets heckled himself. It's probalby one of my favourite moments in the Muppet Show especially the end.
Berle: Oh, I see. You think you could do better?
:boo: I couldn't do worse.
Berle...
Do you take the Gonzo is an alien thing from Muppets from Space as canon? My theory MCC and MTI are fictional works that the Muppets played parts like actors in as part of the rich and famous contract.
^Pretty standard stuff, McDermott aked them if the puppets were coming 'down under', Kermit noted that he was in Sydney to promote the previous movie then Miss Piggy got angry that she didn't go as well, I'd say just the basic talk show Piggy and Kermit schtick not hilarious but still enjoyable...
Just watched the version aired on Australian TV, it was great. I think it was pretty much the same as what was aired in the States except they had added in bits were an Australian host (Paul McDermont) interviewed Piggy and Kermit and Adam Hills. All the Muppet bits were great better than the...
Sweetums singing 'If you could see her' from Cabaret to a female guest star.
Statler and Waldorf singing Style by Frank Sinatra, possibly with a third guest star singer.
You're right I think both are important and don't get me wrong I'd watch regardless of who was on it. It would be interesting to see if they do make a new show how different people would do as there isn't really any variety shows around anymore.
